Still playing so6 so I’m not keeping up with anyone. Nice to see breeding seems to have become less ridiculous.

Luckily for me I did a bit of breeding before SO7 came along and I just have to run my trials :D :D

Has anyone played the jumps yet because I've just played it again tonight and the game is still unplayable   If its stays like that then i'll never play it , it is 100% god awful.

What exactly makes the jumps game unplayable in your opinion Ghostzapper? (Just interested to hear your views really)

Well u stuck in no mans land , the stallions are old ( to old to breed to)to start with and just keep getting older . After a few years all the stallions are 10+ and have lost all their potential and so u cant breed to them and the mares that end up in the breeders sales are all well past their sell by dates as well , so u stuck going no where . All the young horses that are up for sale are useless so u cant improve u horses and I transferred some of my flat horses into it and the horses they breed have no potential and so u end up going around in circles . Perhaps the game gets better as it goes along but its awful and no fun , i'll stick to my flat game where the breeding is far better and the game seems to be made for the flat . I've yet to see a group 1 winning colt end up in the uk breeding barn , just some god awful horses   I've got lots of patience but the jumps game drives u up the wall

I mainly play jumps and what I've noticed is that a fair few decent horses are entered into the selling races. Keep an eye on those races and pick them up there. They always have a low rating so stick them in the valuable handicap races and pick up the prize money. I'm now in the process of sending them to the breeding barn and seeing where we go from there. The argument here though is, is it really realistic that these horses are in the seller races?

Exported and saved in a tff? Assuming it’s still possible?

Guess the answer to my how many seasons question is more than you want us to know :)

The potential parameter may go down with age but the related (hidden) genetic parameter does not so potential dropping with age will not affect the quality of the offspring. If it is proven older horses are creating lower quality offspring (and people complained about this with SO6) then there may be a bug somewhere but it is not related to potential.

It was never resolved in SO6 , after 7-8years of age u horses are not worth breeding to because the potential drops right off and they can never pass it on. The furthest I've got is about 9 seasons in before the game crashes and it looks exactly the same as SO6 , get past 7 or 8 and they become useless to breed to.

The potential issue (along with others) should be improved 0.084. For current games ity may take a while for the changes to filter through.

I find this interesting. I play a little more organically, and one of my favorite things to do in 6 in my US flats was to find an older generated (9+) that could still win a high/mid rated handicap. I'd grab those and breed.

Almost always could pass near a 90-100% quality potential even if the bar looked about 60-80ish by the time I even bought it. And they'd pass that often until they died in the breeding barn. I usually lost interest in the game (Rimworld is oh so shiny) before they'd lose the ability to pass potential.

Maybe I'm crazy, but in 7, or maybe it is just overall potential bars seem lower even in pool horses in my very few started 7 games, but I'm also seeing potential as having less impact at first as it did in 6. But that's for unedited vanilla racing schedule. For the head to head trials type thing that is league, I know you guys that do that will sweat potential.

Hi all. Still pretty new to the forum only joined when SO7 was released. And don’t know how to post photo’s / screen shots, so I’ll try and describe the best I can.

I’ve got my first 140 rated horses in SO7, the first on a mare who I bought at the pre season auction and has won about 26 group 1’s and the other one is her first foal with 16 group 1’s and has won the uk and Irish triple crowns. My horses stats aren’t as good as PJ’s and I’m still figuring out how to get to that point.

Have noticed though if you have group winning mares and send them to international sires you can get good horses and if something works I tend to repeat it.

Also, I’ve noticed that sometimes you can have a horse with 65+ potential an it’s first few runs can be rubbish but after 3/4 it gets better. I had a 2 year old filly I bought at the pre season auction and entered it into a listed race at one of the South African tracks it cams nowhere and is probably still running. Then I entered it in a few novice races and it was like I was learning how to race it was a front runner that I could never get to slow down and couldn’t win a five furlongs race to a horse that could win over 6f and ended up being a 5f group one winner at 2.

May I have your opinion on this horse/result? Maybe I over work on him? To put on breeding or no sense? :)

This is the best sire in my game (Grand Theft Auto) sire of 7 individual G1 winners 4 of his sons
won the derby including the mighty unbeaten London Eye.

Still having serious issue exporting horses still have this light green issue 99% of horses next get
rid of their light green part of the potential bar
