 Re: first superstar
In by some what an act of god, Angelic Appeal has appeared at the auctions, and how now changed hands into Midnight Valley Stables. With a potential maxed out, no wonder he is so dominant.

 Re: first superstar
Decent, the best horse in my game went to auction and I missed it. Nigel Twiston Davies has it. I shall be going to every weekly auction from now on.

 Re: first superstar
Some very nice horses and most are gamebreds. And I have never paid attention to auctions but now maybe I should. I could be missing out on potential super sires. But it's such a pain waiting for that one horse. Anyways here is my 2 homebreds. I think there might be a bit too many Graded/Group races for the US schedule. Making competition not as strong.

I only go once a week, for the weekly auctions on a Thursday. Picked up a couple really good sires to use when the time comes!

I've found in the Flat only game the second and last thursday of the season it throws in some super gamebreed horses.
Picked up around 4 in 7 seasons.

Will upload them when am home tomorrow. Interesting that you mention this because I've been doing some testing... This is one of my horse and it's unraced as a 2, 3 and now 4. And in CK it is subpar. I thought that as it ages the green bar would catch up to the dark green potential rating bar. But it doesn't. I think it needs racing to get to it's true potential. Also it's strange to see it's best distance keep changing ....maybe a bug?

Guess it's down to checking the weekly auctions often i've also found at the start of the year auction the big end of season one, you can pick up some very nice types. Not often has you would think, but occasionally you can get monsters. 95% of the time though they are donkeys, which when you start buying them over 1m+ can get expensive if you don't have Millions.

Last season i picked up 3 monster horses, each winning over 15 G1's each. When i get home tomorrow il upload what i have found, with stats and other details. I've only ever had one horse which i bought at auction for around 1.5m has a 2yo who was and still is one of the best i've had. Front running machine with nearly full Battling Qualities and other stats which are very high, retired him unbeaten at 5yo. This high trait i've not seen in any other horses i've had so far. Yes i've seen these types of horses with the potential bar been dark green, you must race it to get it to it's full potential. Other thing is the horse will improve has he gets older, so like a late maturing horse. I've seen this with some of my stayers still with the dark bar at 5.

 Re: first superstar
I noticed the breeding indicator does change or is wrong from the actual mine screen distance.
Think you are right it could be a bug issue. Maybe mark can look into it.

soulcal18 wrote: how can you tell if its a good horse? and what difficulty are you playing yours on? Buying expensive horses sometimes works, not always though. Usually in the auctions you can get g1 horses at a young age. You need to get lucky as well. Just keep on checking in the weekly auctions. I have always played the game on hard settings. Don't think there is a bias when you pick the game settings from easy to hard.
