Post UK Triple Crown
I was wondering if any of you have som advice regarding this. It is my holy grail now and I have not achieved it. I know in todays real world racing there is very rarely any trainers attempting this for their horses, because of the varying distances.

I have had horses that have won the Derby and St Leger, but are too slow for the Guineas.

Do you use any special tactics to get your Leger horse through the Guineas, or do I just have to wait for the monster that blow everyone away regardless of speed, stamina and distance?

I don't try this very often anymore, but when I did try, it was usually a 1m 2f or a 1m 4f horse that won the triple crown.

When I run a 1m 4f horse in the guineas, I would give it special instructions, usually to go early.

I don't even know how you'd begin to try this. I had a horse with a full Speed bar who looked to have all the correct stats for the Guineas end up being a distance and was stunningly outpaced.

Bars make no difference really you obviously need a decent horse
you dont need full speed done it loads of times with horses with different
levels of ability and bars

what you need is a 1m4 horse

in the guineas give instructions even pace challenge early
in derby even pace
in leger hold up dont trail challenge later

in the leger they usually come into the race on the bridal and go for
home with those instructions they usually make it home the guineas
is the tough one usually finish like a train but sometimes dont pick up the winner
its funny failed misrably when using race handy challenge early or force the pace
which you think would be perfect instructions for a stayer in the guineas but does
not work well have had success in the guineas with hold up challenge early too and they
just get up like Camelot

The way i did it was by using a stayer with a speed horse, Say a 1m7f and a 5f horse, They usually end up being a 1m3f horse which isn't a bad as it sounds because they normally scrape home in the leger, The horse i did it with was called Dawn Of A Dynasty and i think it's hard to find a better name for a U.K triple crown winner, Weirdly he went on the win an ascot gold cup and an Arc

It's not the easiest as I have just completed it after years of trying with my own bred horse called Design Reel..this is a 1m5f horse that has both speed and stamina and group 1 class in it's blood including a St Leger winner..looking back through the breeding lines, there's Derby, St Leger and Guineas winners amongst them so I am assuming that a good line through this lot has finally delivered...I do have a video of the Design Reel winning the Triple Crown but not sure if allowed to post..

First time I’ve ever managed to do it was with this one, I didn’t think stats wise he would have a chance, he won the Guineas by over 2 lengths on a “dont trail, challenge earlier” instruction, the Derby by 3 1/2 lengths with no instruction and the St Leger by 2 lengths on a “hold up, challenge later” instruction.
