Favoured jockey?

Post subject:  Favoured jockey?
I was wondering if any of you have a "favoured jockey" that you retain at the start of the game. Obviously we'd all like to have Frankie Dettori or AP McCoy up on our mounts, but as they're attached when the game starts, you're limited to the pool jockeys. However, there seems to be no difference between putting up a champion jockey or a pony rider when it comes to results.

For my part, I hire Amy Scott. I didn't realise she was a girl until quite recently, but I was attracted for three reasons; she's light, her riding fee is low and we share the same surname. The contrast between game-life and real life is astounding. In real life, Amy retired from competitive riding after her claim expired, and is now used as a work rider for Henry Candy. She had 55 wins from 559 rides, mostly at midweek scrub races.

In my game, she's been champion jockey for the last 25 years (probably should let her retire now) with over 4000 winners and a Group Race record of 2274/423/89.

Anyone else have a jockey they have an affinity for?

R Jessop who starts as an apprentice is usually my jockey of choice.

Not that it really matters but always have Ryan on when available
