I need some tips.

#1 Say I want to produce a 6 furlong Turf Sprinter. Do I cross a 6f broodmare (who prefers turf) with a similar 6f stallion?
In some posts I have seen that some of us are crossing 1m2f stallions with 6f broodmares to produce top 6f sprinter.
Does it matter, or is it random?

#2 Once and for all, the final word, on weather a horse's on-track achievements during their career improving their ability to produce top offspring.
Simply stated, should I bring my theoretical 5 year-old Grade 3-winning stallion back to race at 6, so he can get his Grade 1 win. Will it matter later on in the breeding shed?

All opinions are welcome

I'm not sure it will make a difference.
From my experience, if at the end of 5yo season it's only won G3 races......they don't tend to be G1 horses.
If you are happy with your horse then I'd put it in the breeding barn.

Experiment with your breeding - especially if you have a good sprinting stallion - you may get stayers with more speed or you may get sprinters with more cruising burst. But sprinter together then you know what you are going to get :-)

Thank you. Sounds good.

Most of the time a 6f horse crossed with a 1m2f horse will result in a 1m horse.
But later in the game sometimes you get low or high end of the distance scale.
