Post subject:  AI Breeding

I started a game to see what kind of foals I could get the AI to produce breeding it's mares to 3 of my 100% potential Stallions. After 13 seasons I've managed to buy about 50 back out of around 200 and am yet to see a potential over 50. I've also tracked all progress in races. Most end up in C7 races, a few have made higher. Only 3 have won group races and all as 2yo.

As this was on 'Easier' I'm wondering if this puts the AI foals at a disadvantage when breeding? So would playing on 'harder' give the AI a better probability of generating higher potential foals?

Latest update: Am now 5 years into a harder game and am now breeding 20 stallions with very high potential (majority are 100%) to AI mares. At the moment I've seen no group or listed winners and very few winners of class races and claimers/sellers.

One thing I am noticing. We can send mares to stallions anywhere. The AI only seems to send local mares to you, they don't go abroad. Also, in the game history for best horses the very best mares are almost always foreign.

Will update again in a few more game years.

Okay. I think i'm giving up on this test now. Below are the progeny summary results for my best 5 sires (on race record and horse stats). None have produced a group winner in 12/13 years and none have produced a horse with a decent rating, or even close to 100. I have purchased some and most secondary stats are great, not seen a potential bar higher than 30 though.

And here is an example of one of the sires stats (at 15yo):
