I'v got a few saved games on the go, the one I'm currently playing seems to be freakishly hard for breeding purposes.

I'll breed 40 decent mares (mostly group winners) with a mix of high quality sires....

Every single year, I check my yearlings and at best there are about 3 of them that are anything other than rubbish. Mostly seeing Potential bars around 25%.

Is this normal? Have I just got a "bad game"?

From what ive seen there is a major factor relating to passing on good bars.
Ive breed great performing GRP1 winning Mares and Stallions and gotten garbage.
Ive also found a above average Stallion that passes on great bars, but these are rare.
I look at the Mare auctions and buy any that have produced good foals.

So i guess the message is, just because the parents have great bars and records doesnt mean they will produce good offsprings.

This game is rubbish Mark I am utterly dismayed at the breeding barn and my 2yo on race debut cant seem to breed any good horses all the 2yo's run stinkers on debut and second ran even in jockey mode I cant get what looks like a good 2yo to win and I played SO6 for years without this problem.


The Game is now way to hard to get some decent horses to breed good to 2yo I am thinking of putting this game out and restarting playing SO6 and running another one or two so6 leagues instead because for the slow player its going to be pointless joining any SO7 League or in my case Running any so7 League if I don't have a stable in it.

I posted this on the release of SO7 that 90 to 95% of the horses you produce are unraceable
its the same for everyone just keep the good ones and work on them

The breeding question has been done to death. SO6 had a simple breeding mechanic which virtualy guaranteed offspring quality. This is not the same with a more realitic model introduced. Some like it and some don't. It makes game and league progression harder. In terms of gameplay it's more realistic.
