 Racing Silks (Mark)
I am planning to edit the silks, I chose to graphically revamp SO2 rather than get SO3 so I'm new to the new file layout. I'm not massively interested in the jumps side of the game so want to change the jumps colours to more flat ones, plus add stripes to the chevely and abdullah colours plus epilletes where missing on others, but have only been able to locate gfx/race/jockeys which only has them going right handed. Previously there were files for both right and left handed. Is there only one now, does it just mirror for left handed tracks or am I in the wrong place entirely.
If anyone has done any work or Mark happens to read this, can you point me in the right direction.
I've managed to change the jockey and trainer details, add more current horse, jockey and trainer pictures and update the trophy and betting slip image files which all work fine but the silks take time and I don't want to waste it working on the wrong files.

 Silks
I think you will find that they are mirrored and you only have to alter one lot.
I am now working on new fences which should be ready soon.
What are the chances of using your new pictures etc.

SO4 stores into Program Files rather than creating a game folder like SO2 did. So for silks go to C:/> program files>SO4>gfx, go to race folder and then the silks are under jockeys. I've only added the stripe to the Abdullah, Chevely Park and swingkeel silks so far but works fine and takes a bit less time than it did with SO2.
For the pics, they are also in gfx and then portraits but from what I tried earlier you can't just copy an old folder over. I tried to copy files one by one and that didn't work either so I had to resort to opening one of the new pics, pasting what I wanted over the top and saving it. It worked but I only had time to trial one before I went to work so hoping to find a quicker method later otherwise it'll take up most of the weekend.

Any chance of uploading the changes you've made to the silks?

More than happy too. Should have everything done by the weekend and then people can chose which bits they want.

Thanks Dancing Brave
The horses pictures really make it better along with the new names, and the trophy is well cool. Good work. Looking forward to more silks.

Nice Work. Maybe Mark will open a Game Mods section as before, makes it easier to find new stuff instead of trawling through the other sections. Just a thought!

Cheers.
Good question RoV,
Plan for the flat silks is to do -
*Aga Khan colours.
*Orange + Grey eps (Fleeting Spirit colours)
*Pink + White slvs (Duncan colours)
*Maroon (Sariska colours)
*Grey + Pink eps (Hughie Morrison has a few in those colours)
*Blue + Yellow Stripe (Arabian Gleam colours)
*Green + Yellow Slvs + Red Stripe (Walter Swinburn has a few in those colours)
plus two from -
*Royal colours though they are a pain to do.
*Sea The Stars colours.
*Bosra Sham colours.
*John Gosden colours - green with black hooped slv.
or maybe something else.

Mike,
Yes, open folder 1, paste in there and select yes to all, that should be it. Anything on the data side will need a new game to take effect but anything on the gfx side should work with current games.
