Retire to game pool. Then at the end of the season they will be in the game pool. Load a new game and then you will see the Transfers section is available.
ONLY 6 TRANSFERS A SEASON THOUGH.

2 questions please:-
1.Does doing this retire the horse from the game you are playing?
2. Does the horse become yours in another game or is it just in a pool of horses?

Mine have not gone missing so try it (backup save). If you transfer a horse the horse is removed from the old game I believe.
