Boothy i'd like to know the answer to this too, my thinking has always been the speed training would effective reduce the horses ideal distance and the stamina training increase it

From my personal experience i would say it does not do anything or if it does its so minimal you don't notice anyway.
To be honest i find it almost pointless training the horses yourself and find Auo training more efficient as manual training tweaks like stamina training and speed training have such small effect to no effect that its better to have ready to run horses more often than to faff about yourself especially when you have more than a dozen or so horses as its so time consuming.

Yes. It seems to have a small effect. You need to leave the training setting on for a long time before the horses parameters change and sometimes they do not.
