Do you think not running 2 year olds affects there performance as 3yo's and beyond?? Reason i ask is ive bred a few stayers of late thus 5f is not enough for them to be competitive and there are very few races for 2yo's which are long enough. Is my lack of running them affecting there potential? |

Probably not. Some people run them to get a handicap mark so they can win some nice races off an easy handicap mark. I tend to keep them at 3. It means generally that they are slower to develop, especially if they are green. But I don't think it affects their potential. |

No l would say defo not but if the stamina bar is not very low for your 2yo just wait till near end of season there is mile races and 1m2f races. you dont have to race them just wait till near the end of season and if jockey says 1m2f was too short then at least you have a hcap mark then for season afetr. |

i don't think not running them effects there 3yo career, i myself do run all my horses as supercat said to give them a rating but also for me just as importantly to get a few races under there belt so when i do export them as a 2yo they don't run badly in the RB ie "horse ran green" i do export my 1m4f+ horses too so they need a few runs otherwise they run poorly and even though there will be no 1m4f etc races for 2yo races in the league i do still find exporting a few with challenge earlier they run well in the RB |
