how long to get multiple group 1 wins
hi everyone
starters orders 4 is the third series i have purchased, the previous one being SO2.On SO2 it took at least 3 seasons to win races on a regular basis,i would say about a 65/70%win ratio.I am currently on season 3 on SO4 flat only[simple training]and my win strike rate is very poor, less than 15%i would say, this despite purchasing several 2 year olds end of season 1 costing well over £300000,several so bad they were sold as 3 year olds for less than £80000,a few didn't even make £10000.So i just wondered if the big regular wins don't come until new horses are bred in own ownership as was the case with SO2?Or am i just a rubbish trainer lol ?

Northwest if you are a rubbish trainer then so am I . My horses are poor except one which won a Group 1 race, so, I sent it to the breeding barn, first batch comes into play next season, which will be ...number 4. So, fingers crossed.

send any half decent filly or mare to stud as soon as possible and get them to breed with game horses and in time they will produce g1 winners and soon you will have nothing but g1 winners in your barn to breed off and they will provide you with many g1s it takes a good 10 seasons

thanks for reply exxplozion,i was assuming as i was using simple training method,i was at a disadvantage somehow.I hardly gallop any of my horses, appart from the very start of the season.I have bought 2 filly's in season 2 one won the 1000 guineas,so i entered it in a group 1 race over a mile[guineas distance]i couldn't believe the filly finished well down the field. My other filly won the english oaks[12 furlongs level weights],so i entered it in another group 1 over 12 fulongs, not only did she finish unplaced, but my jockey reported she didn't stay lol!To be fair she won a group 1 over 10 furlongs first race as a 4 year old very easily going away

hi thanks for reply pjrhodes1970,i was hoping once i was able to breed from group winning horses there would be a vast improvment in my quality of horses.Would it be counter productive sending a non group winning mare rated 102 to a group winning stallion rated 130 in your opinion?Or is it best just using horses for breeding with a very high rating?

I also use the simple training method on easy level. Not sure if there is a difference in horses playing at either difficulty level?
I tend to send any horse of mine that as won a Group 1 race to the breeding barn and breed with another horse that as won a Group 1 race. I do think though that, even playing on easy level, SO4 is harder than SO3, but , I have only done 4 seasons so far. I am like SuperCat I cannot rush a game because I take my time and enjoy the experience. I am not entering the league, but, that is a decision I made before purchasing SO4. I still enjoy the thrill of the league that is why I am helping out behind the scenes. But, I am wandering a bit here, like I said I only breed Group 1 horses with other Group 1 horses.

Thanks again for your informitive reply.I am on season 3,so i can only assume the quality horses will start to come from breeding after another 3 seasons or more,as was the case in SO2.I think it was around season 23 or more i reached in that game.I actually got a bit bored with it for a number of reasons, the main one was i was breeding too many foals, and had to sell quality horses to make way for new intake as that game allowed a maximum of 60 horses in the yard, and i had too many horses of both sex in breeding barn, and i had a silly reluctance to retire really good horses from breeding operation.I had upwards of 25 new foals each new season.I will try and limit to a maximum of 5 very good stallions this time in the breeding barn...
