yeah i started one the other day and found that it takes a lot longer - just like you said i get about 4 runs per season out of a horse. Think thats just the way it is with the jumps. obviously my 3 and 4 milers take longer to recover than my 2 milers, but even then it still takes quite a while.

one thing that bugged me was in my first season 2 of the horses i imported won novice hurdles at cheltenham (supreme, dave nicholson) and one came 2nd in supreme. in the 2nd season these horses were completley useless and couldnt win any kind of race. bit weird!!!!

Well done PJ. My three great 2milers were all horses I got right at the beginning. As Hurricane said it is usually a real struggle to get horses to hold their form after their novice year. Not 100% sure why.

Out of interest what level of difficulty are you both playing on? I'm using Hard mode...

I have no idea. Although I have found as I go through the game those horses who are consistently highly placed (within top 5/6) in my trials tend to be the ones who go on to be alright after their novice year. Although I bought a novice from another trainer at the end of the season. It is now running brilliantly and has really held its form... Maybe the game just doesn't want the players horses to go on from their novice year!
