Post subject:  Newbie....needing help

Morning all, only bought the game on Friday, so not had much change to play. I'm sure this has been covered many times before, so apologies.

The actual race schedule has many errors/shortcomings, is that what the racebuilder option is for, to create new races but also alter the existing races which contains the errors?

Lastly, when I download the latest patches, when they become available, will I still be able to continue playing any existing saved games, or do they get lost?

Again, sorry for the basic questions and thanks for any comments.

Yes the schedule does have lots of errors. You can download another schedule that some of the guys on here have made.

But be warned: 1. You almost definitely won't be able to continue with your current saved games, you will have to start a new one.

2. BE careful which one you download if you want to keep playing a mixed (flat and NH) schedule because some of them only encompass the flat so the NH won't work on your game.

3. Whenever you install a new patch you will need to re-install your schedule, this shouldn't affect your saved games but something to be aware of.

The patches won't affect saved games unless you have downloaded any of the mods for your game in which case as I said you will need to re-install the new mods everytime you patch the game. But the patches are made to go with the original game so they should be fine with saves. I know others have but I haven't experienced any problems and I bought the game the day it came out.

I downloaded a schedule for SO3 but didn't realise what I said above and wiped out the NH in my game. I haven't downloaded any for SO4 because I got into a game before any were made. You can make your own, there is a guide if you search on here.

I believe the schedule editor is still not fully functional and many people have had problems with crashes and games not working so unless you're computer savvy I'd leave that for now.

I'm sure some others will come along with more help at some point.
