Post subject:  Betting options?

I'll be buying a key tonight (when my wife gets home with the card, she keeps breaking mine!)

Played through the demo today, having found the game by chance. I bought Stable Masters the other day, and really liked the concept but the graphics are just appalling (it's an old game anyway, but its graphics were 16bit era at best).

One thing about SM though which SO4 doesn't seem to have is better betting options, straight and reverse forecasts. While we're at it, I'd love to be able to place a small accumulator or maybe a Yankee/Union Jack now and then. Perhaps a Tote?

Please excuse if the full game has such options, like I said I just played the demo, but really looking forward to playing the full game.

I believe you can have f/cast r/f/casts and acc on each day mate. Along with ante post betting available

Ah thx mate, that's great news. Just sent payment, awaiting my serial now. Will be great to make race days a bit more interesting by having a cheeky £1 acca each day :D Personally I love a Yankee or Union Jack, but can appreciate coding algorithms for them would be a nightmare.

Been playing the game in trainer mode for a few hours now, but can confirm there are no forecasts available, only accas (win or EW). No SF, RF or tri, which is a real shame especially for races with larger fields. A bit strange that a 10 year old game like Stable Masters can have forecast betting options but SO4 - superior in every other way - doesn't.

There is SF and RF just click on two horses and away you go.

Ah OK thanks, although you can't seem to be able to click on 2 horses on the racecard before the day's racing starts, only from within the 'go racing' menu racecard (so any early bird values are lost - not that it matters with my appalling record on punts  ). I'm still awaiting my first place too, let alone a winner! I think the demo is fixed to reel you in - I was doing really well in that

u dont want to win straight away, would be too easy that way. but trust me tho mate, soon you will be destroying the field in the derby and have a wonder 3yo. enjoy the game and the races throughought the season, and maybe look at downloading a new schedule for your game before you get into it. someone like kenny has developed a schedule which has more races in it and generally a much better schedule than the one when you buy the game.

if you want to have a look at that option go to the game mods section of this forum!!

A new schedule is definitely a good addition to the game but be aware that if you want to play flat and NH make sure you download a schedule that incorporates both side otherwise you won't be able to use all of the game. E.g. If you download a flat-only schedule the likelihood is that there will some date clashes so the NH will be wiped out unless you delete the schedule and revert to the default. I do believe there are a couple available (although I may be wrong) which allow you to split the flat and NH so you can play them separately with new schedules but you can no longer play as a combined game which is probably the best option.

As Hurricane said don't get too attached to a game if you want to download a new schedule because you will have to delete all open games before downloading the schedule as old games won't work with the new schedule!!

Thanks guys, I must admit I find the lack of 2yo races frustrating atm, but I guess it allows my younguns time to develop in training mode. One question I can't find an answer to, not even in the manual; what does C mean in race types? Like C7, C4 etc? Can't fathom it at all.
