that I SUCK at this game! I mean, I've got this middle-distance horse that should be excellent, and yet I can't get it to win a race of any kind. I would show you guys it if I knew how to get the image up on here. Aside from that, the best race any of my horses have ever won is a Group 3, and even then only in small fields. Don't even get me started on the big handicaps.... My useless butt should probably stop playing now

do you breed with game horses in the barn this gives good results instead of just breeding with your own horses |

i also only put g1 winning horses into breeding barn give it time you will get there |

The horse above was bred with other game horses and it's probably the best horse in terms of stats I've ever had. It bugs the hell out of me that it's underachieving so badly. |

All`s not lost. Firstly may I say she`s run a heck of a lot that season for a stayer. I would have maybe tried one the 1m4f maiden races hoping for a good run and the jockey to come back telling me `the horse needs further and did will considering we struggled for pace`. I would then have waited at least a month then looked for a stayers race even a G3 2m race, preferably for 3yo only. Whatever happened then would steer me towards either the Leger or stay at 2m but I would have raced her at most 5 or 6 times. Those maiden runs don`t look too bad to be fair and the 2nd in a conditions race later looks ok considering the hard season. So there`s definately some talent there. I would suggest maybe 2 runs nicely spaced out (roughly a month or so) between 1m6f and 2m and depending how it goes either stay racing and maybe aim for the Irish Leger or send her to stud and find a nice stayer or middle distance runner to cover her. That last decision would also depend on wether there is a sire in the barn qualified enough to cover her. Definately wouldn`t sell her or retire her from the game though. |

Hehe, unfortunately with the above horse, all really is lost. It's failed to win a race, despite the fact I ran it more sparingly than before and I targeted 1m 4f maidens and G3/2 1m 5f/6f races. It placed in the maidens, and the G3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes, but that's about it. What a waste....and that's not even the biggest waste. 
Granted, I have possibly overraced it (although there were no signs of fatigue) and it's been a victim of poor race placement on the flat. Hopefully it will be better this year. If not, instead of retiring it I'll race it over hurdles - it's one thing the horse genuinely does well. |

ahh mate i feel sorry for ya, i had exactly the same situation with one of my horses. it had exactly the same stats as miss gibson, and i was getting soo excited about it, but it was finishing placed in poor maidens. i decided to geld it halfway through, which still didnt make any difference, until when it reached 5yo it began to improve and decided to win the cambridgeshire that was its only real highlight though, i suggest you pursue with this horse, it may still have potential, especially when you look at its breeding indicator it just doesnt match up with its stats. therefore in a couple of years it may want further and get better. Anyway hope this helps! |
