Okay guys im in need of a little advice, so i thought i wold ask the pros a few questions, i have been playing SO4 for quite awhile and i still have not yet figured out my conundrum, its Breeding, and training. when it comes to those areas i seem to fail, mostly Training my new Lot, so question 1.. in regards to my 2yo, what is a good training program should i follow, and for how long, secondly, do you normally race your 2yo, or hold out on them until they are 3yo, then race them. and how long do you normally wait untul you notice they are not pulling there weight, or what are the deciding factors you go by, in determining when to sell them. As far as breeding is concerned, i do alot of that, i have a good breeding pen, all G1 winners of course, weather its game horses or my own. so the question i have is, is there a guideline to follow in regards to picking awesome breeders, or are you just tossed a lucky charm and hope to get winners.. |

Wow, alot of peeps looked at my post, but not a single response, all i was asking was for a lil advice, but i see that no one is willing to offer there advice, thanks guys, ill look else where.. |

instead of now 'cutting your own throat' and people probably won't want to help out, why didn't you just wait or have a browse through the past forum topics, i am sure this has been discussed before not sure where though. I personally hve never had horses good enough for the league and i am constantly restarting the game. (get bored and then just restart), I have however had a full breeding barn and i usually keep the odd decent handicapper and have been thrown a very nice horse from a few of them. My deciding factors are: Style of racing - usually hate having hold up horses so go for off the pace to front runners. Going pref: Cos i play on the flat game and its predominantly good - firm going i make sure i'm not breeding soft ground horses. I also dont breed excitable horses - i try not to geld anything or have head gear needed. instead of constantly breeding from my own bred horses that win g1's i like to buy some game horses that are group horses to keep in fresh blood. Thats about it for my preference but i have never created a 'monster' and i havent won any league races. So take what you will from my advice mate. As i said be patient on here, a lot of people will help its just having time to post around all the forum whilst working jobs takes time. |

cant help with traing side as i use simple training mode but the key to everything is breeding you need to breed your own filly/mares with game colts/stallions in the breeding barn and get your own colts/stallions to cover game mares and fillys i have tried breeding my own males with my own females but i get much better results when crossing with game horses in breeding barn once you have been breeding for about 5 seasons you will start getting great results i won 53 g1s last season all down to breeding mate hope it helps its also good to buy a couple of exspensive 2yo at end of season sales to freshen things up abit i only buy ones that fetch netween £450.000 -£475.000 |

I'd say perseverance would be the best thing. Also get into breeding, you don't need an expensive mare, if you put her to a G1 winning stallion you should get a decent horse. I don't know about the training but as I posted in another recent post there was a thread about it not so long ago so I'd suggest either doing a search or having a browse through the pages. I'd do that anyway to get some ideas and inspiration, there's an awful lot of information on this site and hardly any of it ever gets used. Have a good look through, I'd sure you'll be a champion trainer in no time. |
