I would guess, most likely, when it is finished by Mark. SO4 will only be about a year old. Patience is a virtue.

there will be an so5 but not for a while mark has been working on
greyhound manager 2 and working on patches to get so4 working right so
think it won't be until next december at least til we see the next version
of this great game so4 was release in december 2009 for the xmas
market and i think so5 will also be targeted for the xmas market mind
you so3 was released in april 2008
with patches still been made for so4 and gm2 we will just have to wait for s05

i dont think mark has started on s05 from some of the things ive seen
written by him in other forums he has said that he will need to revamp
the game to get some of the features that people want in s05 and some
things will need to be done from scratch so i think its hoghly unlikley
that he has started on so5

This incarnation has plenty of mileage in it yet. Been playing it for a while and by no means mastered it. into season 12, or is it 18 (I forget) and only just starting to see decent homebreds. my twopenneth worth would be perhaps SO5 in 12 months time, but in no hurry as SO4 suffices at present.

Was SO2 that long ago??? Christ, I still have it on one pc lol!!! Just let Mark get on with it, rather he took his time and ironed out problems so there are less patches, given up on the amount of times i've had to reinstall mods etc!! Remember there was quite a gulf between S02 & SO3 (addition of jumps etc) whereas SO4 was just an improved SO3..........

Not a great deal has been done on SO5 as yet. The very earliest SO5 would appear is Christmas 2011 but it may well be later than that. I am looking at some new platforms. GM2 was released a couple of months ago and uses a new cross platform rendering engine. This means it will also soon be released on the iPad (it is working on the iPad but there are loose ends to tie up). It could be a version of Starters Orders may get an iPad release but due to memory problems it would have to be cut down and may require changes. iPad releases will not include construction kits either. iPhone is more difficult. Partly due to memory, and processor and partly down to screen size. A mac version may also be possible. These ports will help fund the on-going development of the series.
SO5 will be an incremental release but is a long way off yet. No significant re-vamping is needed. I have a number of features I would like to include so there is plenty to do.

Mark can you please tell us what these features might possibly be and would you consider player suggestions down the track?
Thanks.

I don't like talking about improvements as they may or may not end up in the game. As for suggestions now is the time. There are always a flood of last minuet suggestions when the game is due for release and these are of no use because the last phase of development is taken up with testing and minor tweaks and it's way to late (by then) to implement any but the most simple of features.

Cheers.
