Post Racing strategy help
While I use SO3 I wanted to post here because this board is more active and I figured the racing strategy was basically the same.

Anyway, I am playing the US game and I have an outstanding 3 year old who has won the 1st two legs of the Triple Crown with relative ease. The colt is a bit of an anomaly because it's stated average best distance is only 1m, but his stamina bar is higher than that. Right at half way up, and good enough to run a strong 1m2f race. However, I really want to try to stretch him out and get him a victory in the Belmont so he can win the Triple Crown (something I have not done in the game). Any suggestions on how I might be able to get him to 1m4f? I know the suggestion about using "challenge later" to stretch the horse's stamina out a bit further. The colt is a closer so I was thinking of maybe trying to use a pacemaker, but I am not sure how effective that is and if that is really how a pacemaker is supposed to be used. Anyway, any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here is a picture of his data form:

Hi there,

I managed to do something similar to this back in SO3 with a horse bred for 10F (1M 2F), he managed to win over 8F, 10F, 12F, 14F.

He captured the Guineas, Derby and St. Leger (English Triple Crown) and for his final instructions for the St. Leger I opted with Hold Up, Dont Trail, Challenge Later.

This should give you the best chance of completeing the feat, and I wish you all the very best.

If he makes it, get a picture up. Good luck! :)

Post Very happy
Well, with this horse it seems that doing less means winning more. I have steered clear of using jockey instructions with him because he's been successful without them and when I ran him in the Belmont I decided to continue that trend. He did not disappoint:

I am very proud to have finally won this prestigious trifecta of races!

Nice! Congrats!

I had a horse who won the Derby and Preakness and was leading Belmont with a furlong to go..... but he got passed and finished 2nd by a head.

Argh! So close!

That is by far the closest I've ever been to winning the Triple Crown.
