Post Starters Orders 4 iPad in time for Cheltenham!
Starters Orders 4 is coming to the iPad March 15th (ish).

Quite a few features have had to be removed to get it to fit. Also there is no combined schedule (the horse database is no longer big enough for this). There will be separate flat (UK, IRE, AUS and USA) and jumps (UK and IRE) games costing around £6-£7.

Because I have had to remove quite a lot I'm adding one or two features that will end up in SO5 in some form and are not in SO4 PC as a bit of a bonus.

The list of features that are in the iPad version (that are not in SO4) are below:

* Improved and bigger stands with some crowds. Some other minor race changes.
* Unseated riders and loose horses.
* More complex jumping model (fast jumps are now simulated).

The list of features that are NOT in the iPad version and are in the PC version of SO4 are as follows:

* Smaller form book.
* No replays.
* No race commentary.
* No combined flat and jumps games.
* No jockey control options.
* Only one save game slot.
* No construction kit.
* No user schedule creation facilities.
* Only one player allowed.
* No Punter match game.
* Only one standard meeting per day.

PS. There is NO jockey control. The TOUCH JUMP icon replaces the TAB and just skips a furlong or so.

Wow... that looks awesome. I just hope that one day the game will appear on the Iphone, although i know that if the game has to be stripped down for an Ipad, then the likelyhood of that is next to zero!

But if SI can do it with Football Manager, I can dream :D

To be honest the main problem with the iPhone is that due to it's size every screen and menu would have to be totally reworked. Until it's proven to be worthwhile (in other words it needs to pay for itself) there are other priorities.

Also i think the smaller devices are not so suited to a management sim as the iPad.

The hope is to release a horse racing game on the iPhone shortly after the iPad release. It will not be a management game, just a simple punter match. Study the form and place a bet etc.

Looks amazing. The lead horse is jumping way too early and will land into the fence never mind clearing it. Can't wait for SO5.
Is it still Spring 2012, Mark?

Mark, just a quick question about the schedule ? is it the same as what came with SO4, or has it been enhanced ?

It is likely to use the standard schedules.

SO5 date remain early or 'sometime' 2012 and I doubt there will be any more clarity on that until the Autumn..
