if you gallop your 2yo's several times before there maiden run does
it prevent them from running green on the track or does it have no eefect over greeness

just started to trial my 2yo's on gallops b4 season really gets started to pick
who the best is and to decide on there future runs

still notice a few running green

Not sure about running green, but I do like to put my 2yo's through gallops with my best horses three or four time their maidens.

If a 2yo's breeding indicator is 1m, I pick my best 7f horse to lead over a 1m gallop. I feel this provides a good yardstick. Also gets the blood going when your 2yo keeps the pace with your top horse and comes through with a nice time!

I dont think it will stop them from running green but it will enable you to tell which horses are ready to run. These are the ones finishing close and the ones that finish way behind are going to be better later in the season or as a 3yo. I gallop my 2yos over there best distance at that time. So all my 5f horses run with a lead and then the ones that finish close together will run soon and i do this for every distance up to 1m2
