 Not guilty!!
As some may be aware, i have been plundering the bookies satchels with 4 year old stayers on the flat who were expensive 2 year old purchases and handicapped over 5f, have had 1 fine out of 10 for 'non-trying' and 5 of the horses won their 1st 2 starts including a C2 from 28lb out of the handicap with no further comment from the stewards...... However, i decided to buy a horse that had 0 wins from 34 starts, reading its form it had only run over 5 and 6f in conditional races and C2 handicaps, its breeding pref distance was 1m and it was rated 88, paid £22,100 which was £100 more than reserve, entered it straight away into a 1m claimer with +20lb, it won easy and i was fined £1000 for the apparent improvement!!! sold it at the auction for £34,800. sounds strange i got a fine for apparent improvement for a horse making its debut for me!
