 Your First Choice Jockey
Just out of curiosity really, wanted to know what jockey's people prefer to use. I can't remember the last time I managed to retain R L MOORE, so I always have to look elsewhere. My first choice currently on the UK flat is J FORTUNE, followed by S DE SOUSA. Fortune just keeps churning out the group wins and De Sousa is good with my short distance runners it seems.
In a previous game PAUL EDDERY got something like 80 G1 wins for me over 15 plus seasons. J P SPENCER seems to be the only top jockey(going by fees and wages) who is sometimes not retained at the start of a new game.
I'll be getting stuck into the jumps soon, any suggestions outside the games top jockey's?

How can you tell who a good jockey is? All I go on is race fee. There must be something else?

 Re: Your First Choice Jockey
The majority of time, the top jockeys are already retained when you start a new game. I just looked at who had a good season win percentage and started using them. After some success I just retained them. PAUL EDDERY does not command a big fee or wage yet he went on to have 80 plus G1 wins for me. J P SPENCER is considered a top jockeys according to money but I've had nowhere as many wins with him in top races.

 Re: Your First Choice Jockey
Has nobody tried D Mackay, or whatever he is called has been my stable jockey since the start of the game and with my lowly horses he has won jockey champ for last 2 seasons and won me my only C1 race so far on a horse that only just won once at C2 by a head. commands a biggish racing fee on my game though, don't know if thats with the success he has had?

Always use Rodd when racing in Australia. Consistently has the best career record

 Re: Your First Choice Jockey
I ride my own as well, having edited my name into the game as both a flat and NH jockey. The only slight drawback is that my NH persona will occasionally pick up rides for other stables, while my flat jockey won`t, having been retained from an apprentice.

Are you riding this weekend at Kempton lol No seriously I like that touch in the game where you can put a fictional jockey into the game and see how there get on it adds a fun element to the game.
