Hey All,

Bought the game a couple of days ago and struggling really but just going to stick at it! I watch horse racing quite often but i'm just an average punter really, no great knowledge of the sport but I prefer the jump season so i've concentrated a bit more on that in the game, is this more difficult??

Couple of questions I would like to ask...

One basic, how do I run the game in window mode?? When I click on it at the beginning of the game it says to restart, so i've done that and it still comes on in full screen?

Also, I've started a couple of jump seasons and its crashed in the 2nd season, I've not modified anything (yet) so is there anything I need to do to stop this happening??

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but, I believe that, if you buy an uncracked version of the game for hard cash rather than running a pirated version, the crash at second season doesn't happen. It doesn't crash on my version which I bought.

I have got the FULLY PAID FOR version of the game, never illegally downloaded a game in my life! Have no need to because I have money lol (can prove it if anyone wants)

Anyway, can anyone else help please

did you buy the game directly from the starters orders website if so mark will sort this out for you

Circumstantial mate. All previous posts with this exact problem have been found to be, shall we say, not legit versions. Apparently this only happens with cracked versions, especially as the poster stated he has added no mods (so there's nothing there to bugger it up) Be honest, have you ever, in all the time SO4 has been out, had anyone with this problem on a brand new download that has no mods added. especially now with so many patches added to iron out any creases. If I am wrong, I apologise, but, usually, if it smells it aint fresh

a new game with all latest patches should run perfectly espechially without any add ons

To be fair mate, I've searched around the net for solutions and all the ones i've found have been to do with cracked games but I know i bought it legit off after playing the demo countless times lol paid for through paypal and everything

If i buy it does it come with the latest patch??

And any chance someone can answer my other question please about playing it in windowed mode??

did you buy it through startersorders.com if so you should contact tech support or as advised b4 email mark
he will have your licence details through your email

to play in windowed you have to select it in menu then close program
then reload and it should load in windowed mode (worls for me everytime)

The 'if I buy it does it come with latest patch' comment implies you haven't yet bought it, therein lies your problem. get a legit copy of the game and it will work, play a cracked copy, and, as explained earlier, it crashes at seasons end, just like yours does.

oh i did not no that a cracked version crashed at end of season

evidence is mounting why did you not email mark thats what i would do on buying the legit game i would be
well miffed if it kept crashing i would email mark straight away for a soloution its strange that you didnt like neves said if we are wrong i apologise but looks like a cracked copy

Simple question about the patch wasn't a difficult one, just asked did it because I haven't installed one so was wondering if I had to! If you buy a boxed version of Football Manager you have to download all the patches, so to me it wasn't a completely dumb question!

Tried to post a screenshot of my confirmation email but can't work out how to post images! I've unistalled the game and installed it again and the seasons seem to work fine now so god knows what was wrong with it

Anyway, I guess i'll work out the rest of the game myself and enjoy it without coming on here and trying to get involved in any banter! I would like to say though, I have never and will never download an illegal copy of a game, I appreciate the hard work people put into games to create what we play and wouldn't want them to not keep creating games because too many people download them illegally! Always supported FM and will continue to do so with SO
