From what I've seen, I don't think so. They tend to top out in potential after 4 races or so, which is why I believe most people race 4-6 times per season. Comparing my horses that I race only 4 times, to the ones I race 10 times I don't see any detriment to the horses that ran more but no bonus either. The only time you will see detriment is if you over race the horse, which will recover next year, but you'll ruin it's nice win record. It's a fine line from how much I race to over racing, one more race and they might have given out for the remainder of the season, then again they might have been able to run 5 more. I honestly don't know if they get burnt out due to over racing as youngsters, I always check their condition pre-race and if they look like they could use more time off I just withdraw them. The reason I race my two year olds so much is that I am trying to get on the 2 year old leader board again for highest rating, and you need a lot of races to get such a high number (I think the record right now is 133, which is INSANE). So if u overrace a 2 yo, does it affect the potential in the long run, or is every horse back to normal after a new season? Is there any negative effect when overrunning horses in general (e.g.20 races in a season), like a faster potential drop, or does the performance just suffer in that particular season?

On the Training tab, the head lad will say "Care! You are close to over-racing this horse!". At that point you have a choice to make... Every race you put them in after that could wipe them out for the rest of the year (can't / shouldn't run them again), or they might make it through okay. I personally don't run them in any races for the rest of the year once the head lad gives me the "Care!" warning. This goes for any age horse, not just 2yo.

Re: New Beginnings
Looking good Paul. I haven't played at all since the new patch came out that made all the old games incompatible. Not entirely sure I'll get time now either which is a shame. Keep up the good work!

Re: New Beginnings
Never seen a 2yo performance like this in my game. Highest rating off first start. Won the race by 6 3/4 lengths in 1:24.43. Will keep y'all updated with his career.

Re: New Beginnings
I think I spoke one season too soon. Now this may be the best 2yo I've ever had. Wow! And Free Pride is doing well. Still undefeated. Didn't race in Triple Crown due to not having a full realized potential bar, which hurt stamina by a lot.

Re: New Beginnings
About to retire the extraordinary class of 2035. 74/103 ~ 49/9/5 ~ $37,926,435High earner Belgrades Finest has some pretty poor breeding. Truly a diamond in the rough. Literally the last hope from the sire Belgrade to keep his line going. Year after year he sired nothing but duds. I had relegated him to breeding to the deadwood mares in the games breeding pool and he throws this one.

Re: New Beginnings
Now this is a performance. Grade 1 winner in second start. Quite a feat to win a 7 furlong grade 1 2yo stakes with a long distance stamina bar. Makes up 10 lengths from 4fur pole to finish line.

The excitable and very excitable's get tossed in my program. I have no time for their antics.

Do u have any Kentucky derby horses yet. Just about to finish out a 30+ season run and then do proper trials for all my horses and then send my program off on the league road. Wanted to get a nice group of horses first.
