Actually, Bobsworth, going back to what you said, I even have a hard time linking silks to certain trainers. Ive tried multiple different ways, but yet they never change in game on the trainers list.

In this download is every single currently active horse that is registered with the BHA. I found a way to get these from the BHA website with a lot of tricks used in Excel, and they are now downloadable below and ready to go. EVERY single horse in the colts file is new, just shy of 10,000 horses in total. In the fillies list, 4,000 of them are new, and the other 11,000 were in the game already (there simply wasn't enough active fillies in training today to make up the required numbers). Thanks nathd. Brings a bit more realism to the game. Last year, I tested whether it was possible to associate horses to a set of colours, like we can with the trainers. It didn't work though. |

That's a shame. Perhaps this is something Mark can put into the next game. There is so much potential with this game, its just a shame that its following is relatively small. Kind of makes it impossible for the creator to invest large amounts of money into it. I think he should approach racing post and see if they'd join up with him, they could invest and also provide their database of statistics and information. |

Have you mapped out the colours in the owners.dat file within a certain country's folder? Need to do that first (add the retained jockey), then check that you have only generic colours listed on the general owners.dat file (the file that sits in the root of the data folder) because the game will prioritise this owners file rather than your country-based owner files, and then feed-in the colours for that owner to that of the trainer along with the retained jockey. So, in (1) owners.dat, K Abdulla 4,J Doyle In trainers.dat, R Charlton 4,J Doyle So in the gameplay, you should have J Doyle riding regularly for R Charlton wearing K Abdulla's colours. A limitation with this system is that you can't allocate one owner (one set of colours) to many trainers, or one jockey to many owners and trainers. Perhaps something else to mention to Mark. |
