Post Patch 0.095 and modding.
Changes have been started to improve modding. A MODS folder now exits in the root folder of the game location.

You should have a db folder in here that reflects the directory structure of the games db folder. Put any of your modded files in here and do not overwrite the games db items. That way patches will not interfere with your mods.

The instruction document has been updated.

When using the SO6 > SO7 showcase and course file convertor you now use the mods/@so6convert folder. See Instructions.

The mods process has not been completed. Currently any data files, racecourse maps, portraits and picked up from the mods folder. I need to look at this further.

If a mod folder exists with the correct files (flat, jumps and/or combined schedules) the option to use it will be given at game start.

Please report any problems.

Just so I'm clear as of patch 0.095, is it only the db folder for this patch, or also say 3D and gfx?

Don't want to pull my 3D & gfx files to mods then bug it, if it isn't due in until 0.096 or later.

Right now all the DB files and any new contents of the 3d/corses folder and the portraits can go in.

Thanks, doing fresh install too, so my files are spanking clean. :)

Edit:

Seems to not work without db folder mods (aka without schedule mods). I did find out you need to name your top folder, called mine "UI_Mod".

under that I had
/gfx/portraits with six files replacing the generic and blank jockey/owners/trainer pics.

That is all.

I select "UI_Mod" in the drop down, for a new game (fresh install), and the "Schedule options" choice buttons disappear. Go back to default and they come back.

I tried putting an empty db folder in UI_Mods, and restarting. Same behavior.

Since I don't have a schedule mod, I'm curious if it behaves well with one there. The schedule options replace is perfect for that. I just don't have anything there.

This is still new 0.095, so no one worry if reading this later.

For now you must have a schedule in there for it to be picked up.

Hi mark

I have added my showc and sched .dat files both into mods/so6/1 folder

Went to game and clicked on conversion symbol, quit and checked the output folder but nothing had changed

Is this working yet? Got a file with real jockey names and doesn't work for me.
