It allows you to set a specific field size for certain races. When used with handicap races, it usually results in more horses than the specified field size being entered for the race, with the lowest-rated horses scratched on the day of the race to reduce the field to the chosen number. When used with non-handicaps, it usually results in the set number of horses being entered for the race. If further horses are added to the field through prep races, the equivalent number of horses (starting with the lowest-rated) are removed. |
