There's a few races in the USA schedule that lead to duplicates despite attempts to put in both versions of the race. The offenders are:
Makers Mark Mile (7f 3UP and 1m 4UP version)
Kentucky Breeders Cup (2yo and 3UP version)
Louisville Breeders Cup (1m 3UP FM and 1m1f 3yo version)
Milady Breeders Cup (3yo FM and 4UP FM version, both for 1m)
Leonard Richards (1m 3yo and 1m2f 3UP FM 120 handicap versions)
The Victory Ride (6f 3yo and 1m2f 3UP versions)
The GC Breeders Cup (1m1f 3yo F and 1m3f 3UP versions)

The Canadian International is also an oddball. It's listed in the USA showcase as well as the Canadian, but it doesn't matter which one you use in your schedule. You put one into the schedule, save, and go back to it later, the checkmark won't appear on either the USA showcase or the Canadian, but the race remains in the schedule on the right. Used to work fine in SO4. Since Canada actually has more races now, would probably make sense to remove the race from the USA showcase.

The game recognizes the name of the race and the race track the race is run but not the distance, class, or the age groups. So despite the Makers Mark Mile having 2 versions of the race at 2 distances (7f and 1m), if you put in both, the game defaults both races to the 1m version after the file is saved and reloaded. This has been going on since the USA race schedule was first introduced and has never been corrected. You can pull up the USA default schedule and run through the list of races in the left panel to see several races with 2 checkmarks and the ones below them aren't checked. There are other races that appear they could cause duplicates (sort the showcase by name to see those), but they're run on different tracks so they don't pose duplication problems.

Only way to fix this is to either change the name of one of the races or remove one of the two races. I just rename the 7f Makers Mark Mile to Makers Mark Stakes, the 6f The Victory Ride to The Victory Ride Sprint, etc. Allows me to have both versions of the race then. Beats removing them entirely since some of the races that keep getting removed are the more obscure distances like 7f, 1m1f, and 1m3f.
