Re: Cricket discussion
Stokes only batsman to show any resistance at all. What's the odds on a 5-0 series whitewash?

Re: Cricket discussion
No passion heart ticker bravery guts determination honour or dignity just rolled over and gave up AGAIN
Have seen many lows in english cricket over the years Athertons team rolled over for 40 in west indies in early 90s i honestly thought those days had gone but this is a whole new all time low for english cricket
On the other hand many congrats to the aussie boys that was a master class in bullying & utter domination
i feel so sorry for the barmey army i looked into how much it would cost to go on tour for an away ashes series and i can tell you it is alot of money to pay that and watch that pile of dung must be a bitter pill to swallow
rant over

Re: Cricket discussion
England Squad ratings & Futures
Alastair Cook (c) 1 A Major let down as Captain and more importantly as a batsman in woeful form a shadow of the Cook we saw here 3 yrs ago (Has to carry on but maybe not as captain)
James Anderson 5 only a handful of decent performances for England premier fast bowler (Has to be kept on)
Jonny Bairstow (wk) 2 Never Rated him i never thought he was test quality smelled of desperation picking him as wkt keeper (AXE)
Ian Bell 3 Great Summer but another senior pro who let us down when we needed him (1 bad series a class act on form KEEP)
Gary Ballance 4 Showed some guts out in the middle have not seen enough to make judgment on him (50/50)
Tim Bresnan 4 IMO not a test match quality bowler in because he can bat (AXE)
Stuart Broad 6 Best performing bowler just coming into his peak (Keep)
Michael Carberry 2 Well that didnt work feel very sorry for Nick Compton he could not have done any worse and about 5 years younger (AXE)
Steven Finn - Never given a chance i rate him highly needs promoting to the 1st team give him a run of games (IN)
Monty Panesar 4 Filled the gap left by swanny a likable lad maybe deserves a run in the team not sure what else we have in the cupboard (50/50)
Kevin Pietersen 3 Love him but i cant remember the last time he put 2 good innings together seems to have lost all consistency time against him (50/50)
Matt Prior (wk) 0 Cant hold a bat at the moment a series to forget i would see how he does in County Champs b4 allowing back (has prove himself AXE for now)
Boyd Rankin 2 Unlucky to get injured have not seen enough to judge (One for future)
Joe Root 3 Has been well and truely found out this winter he will learn alot from that (KEEP)
Graeme Swann 4 A sad loss to the team Leaves big hole legend
Ben Stokes 8 Brilliant prospect he is a star in the making Flintoff/Botham style (KEEP)
Chris Tremlett 3 Could not live up to his rep from 3 years ago i was surprised he was included (AXE)
Jonathan Trott 2 A Big loss to the team get him all the help he needs and get him back in asap (KEEP)
Scott Borthwick 4 Showed a bit of class in 2nd inns taking 3 wickets Aussies tried to batter him (50/50)
James Tredwell - 3rd spinner not used (Keep for ODI's)

Re: Cricket discussion
You were generous with Carberry, only deserves a 1 in my opinion.
Cook needs to be stripped of the captaincy and get back to free flowing batting when century's were oh so easy for him to come by.

Re: Cricket discussion
I was fully expecting a very close Ashes series this time round, but it was anything but that.
Being a proud Australian I don't want to rub it in too much but the whole English squad was just awful. Broad and Stokes the only standouts for me. In ashes series you have to win those crucial moments and England didn't take advantage of a single one.
Poor bowling, ordinary batting, but I think worst of all for the English team was the horrendous captaincy by Cook. Got his fields all wrong and never looked in command...
It will be interesting how they shape up in their next test series...
