Post New Laptop
I am planning on buying a new laptop, I am looking for recommendations, the laptop I have been using does not have great graphics and so i can not play the game with the highest quality graphics, and the highest horse pool i can get is 14000. I am looking for recommendations for a new laptop in the price range of around £500, that would enable me to play with the highest quality graphics and attain the highest horse pool, which I believe is 19000. Could anyone help me as I do not know much about laptops? Thank you

Perhaps if anyone achieves this on their laptops, they could say which laptop they are using?

You may just have to check the specs of laptops that are advertised online or go into a shop that sells a lot of laptops and tell them you want a laptop that can easily handle the specs of the game and a maximum price you're prepared to spend.
I suggest getting something that will handle the game with ease so when SO7 comes out next year your new laptop wont have any problems with it.

Most important thing is to make sure it has a dedicated graphics card and a good clock speed for the cpu. I bought an Asus a year or so ago with these specs

I7 Processor at 2.60ghz
16GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 960m

Its runs SO6 at 60fpm with everything on. Also does al the video editing and sound editing I need for other applications.

I got it from a place on net called Saveonlaptops.co.uk. It was on offer at about £800 at the time.

You should be able to pick something up for around £500 now. I5 processor will do and any dedicated graphic card. Just avoid onboard graphics and you should be ok.

This one would more than likely do the job :

Hi, thank you for your help and sorry for late replying, I haven't yet bought a new laptop, I've had a few financial issues. In terms of a cheap laptop would this run the game as I would like: https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cheap-gaming-l ... Ciid%253A3 ?

Thanks

Only if you would like the races to run like a slide show. That's a business laptop designed primarily to run office applications, not to play games. It has an Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics chip which has a video benchmark of only 313 (minimum/recommended benchmark for SO6 is around 1500).

As Martin has already said above if you want to play SO6 or any other modern game on a laptop you will need something with a dedicated graphic card.

No, it's barely better than the Intel HD3000 graphics on the cheap laptop. Benchmark is about 360.

The absolute minimum you should be looking at for playing SO6 imo is a gtx950m and preferably a gtx960m or better if you want your laptop to have at least some longevity. If you can't afford anything like this just now I would recommend waiting until you can. Buying a laptop with an underpowered graphic card will be an exercise in frustration and leave you cursing that you have wasted your money.

How can I find out the benchmarks for graphics? Because I don't know anything about them and they don't all say gtx950 etc, there are lots of different ones and I have no idea how they compare

My advice is not to buy a laptop for SO6 - buy it for SO7.

Keep saving and buy something that will take you into the next five years.

I know more about desk top specs than for laptops so I am not much help for you but anything brand knew and current that is not a business or budget laptop should do the trick.
I am Australian so if you spend around $1000aud - approx. 600 pound or a bit more, you should be safe. Or a safer bet is a current and new bottom line gaming laptop.

But from what Mark has been telling us - SO7 sounds like it will be superior to SO6 in every way so that is what I would be aiming for.

I thought you were after a laptop! The Pentium G4560 is a decent little dual core desktop cpu and v. good value if your on a tight budget but it's integrated graphics chip falls a long way short for playing games including SO6.

Hi everyone, thank you for all your help I have a new laptop now and the graphics run a lot better than previously. The maximum pool size is still 14000 however, is this the maximum for the game it has anyone been able to get higher and if so is there any way of doing this?
