1. US racing, the addition of correct US race types, for example, Claimers, Maiden Claimers, Allowance Optional Claimers with the relevant price tag. For example, $10K Claimers would have the equivalent horses rated 40-50 to $100K AOC would have horses in or around Listed level and all price ranges in between, $10, $20, $30, $40, $50, $75K races.

2. Better AI for the "better" horses. Derby winners running 18 times a season etc is not realistic.

3. Sales, rather than have the yearling, 2yo, breeding sales scattered throughout the year have a designated time for sales. For example, breeding sales in December, 2yo March or April, yearling in July & September or October. Also especially for the yearling sales mimic what the major sales do, Book 1 (top sires, grade/group one winning dams and if possible siblings to top class horses), Book 2 ("Lesser" bred "cheaper" yearlings). Also allow the top priced yearlings to go for more than the current cap of around £1.45M. The top price last year at Tattersalls was £3.5M. 1982 Snaafi Dancer $10.2M, 1984 Seattle Dancer $13.1M, 2004 Jalil $9.7M & Meydan City $11.7M etc. Out of those only Seattle Dancer was remotely half decent so I'm not suggesting just because you pay a ridiculous amount you get a top class horse.

4. Schedules, perhaps use the ones that the Mod's created for S06 as a starting point. They're much more realistic than the current ones.

5. International travel, bring in quarantine times, for example a UK horse entered in the Melbourne Cup prevent it running anywhere but Australia in the 4 weeks up to the race. Perhaps the introduction of "early closing" races can assist with this.

i'd like to see this too. i've always liked the american system of claimers as bread and butter races. in SO it would make gameplay more challenging and fun.
