Will there also be an overhaul of the schedule with regard to the number of maidens and opportunities (low grade handicaps) for lower grade horses Mark?

Hi. I’ve attached the link to all UK flat races and UK jumps races. Don’t know what is in the default schedule and what isn’t. I do find on the flat schedule that listed races for fillies are hard to find especially over sprint distances but in general listed races and group 3’s over sprint distances as well. Don’t know about jumps don’t play it that much. Will these added races show up in other schedules like the Irish default Schedule?

Post Re: Patch 0.125 UK schedule updates.
Hi Mark

Thanks for taking the time to update the schedule.

I am no schedule expert but ive noticed a few things.

In modern racing the Irish Jumps festivals rival the English festivals now and I think the big Irish festivals before and after Cheltenham should be better represented in the game. Either both compacted onto one day or split over several days as in real life. The Irish jumps horses compete every year at Cheltenham and helping to replicate this invasion of top class horses with real form could really help the UK gaming experience.

Also in the game you have put the Punchestown Champion chase down twice on the 28th of April.

There is a novice race for fillies now at the festival and I think this should be added if possible.

I think the Jumps season should end at Sandown as it does in real life. Not sure why there are feature faces at Sedgefield and Haydock after the Sandown meeting.

I've seen this mentioned a lot but I'm not sure why the novice races aren't Group races like in real life.

In the flat schedule The Dewhurts and The Middle Park are now run 2-3 weeks apart so horses can enter both races, basically the future Champions day races where split up again.

I still think the American triple crown would be nice to have with a few 2yo and 3yo USA pattern races as British and Irish trainers do very occasionally try to win these races. Also when I end up with a top class 3yo horse on the dirt there is only the Dubai Derby that is run on that surface which is a little bit disappointing.

Im not sure if i've ever incountered novice races on the flat before. This seems to be for horses who have not won in 3 or more races, like a maiden. Is this a bug ?

Updated jockeys and trainers would be nice.

Finally could some code possibly be added to take away group penalty's after a certain period of time like in real life. I have had too many horses win a below par group race and have their carrers ruined forever by a penalty that wont go away. In real life this is an integral part of the industry to keep good horses in training.

As ever if you do read this thank you for taking the time to do so and any changes would be much appriciated.

Novice flat race does not seem to be a bug.

http://rules.britishhorseracing.com/Ord ... 61&depth=3

Section 4.7

Read somewhere the thinking was to give trainers something to do with horses that broke their maiden quickly but were still young and had little else to do, esp. mid/late age 2. So they gave them a category to get them out, and a reason for the trainer to keep them at the track, as well as to fill up schedules.

Ah yes here it is:

It is a newish thing they are trying.

I think he was referring to novice races over the jumps, which are different to novice flat races. When it comes to jumps, there are graded novice races. Many of them appear in the game, but just as standard novice races.

Hi

So I have updated the game and my current save is still on the old schedule, of course I understand some things cant be updated in a current save but yeah it would be great since I usually play 5-10 hours a week and play mainly the one save over a year or so!
Great improvements all the time but would love the schedule to be more deeper especailly the 2yo races. There is a ton of novices which im sure in real life there is not that many.

Once race missing i can note of top of my head is the 2yo - Langleys Solicitors British EBF Marygate Fillies' Stakes. This is ran at York over 5f for 2yo.

If anyone while hear knows of any good threads to help with getting bettter 2yo's and just general tips for improving horses would be very greatful!

Thanks

Not being in the UK, when they were first added I thought they may be a bug and looked it up. ;)

So maybe he did mean jumps novice, but when Mark added the flat novice I was confused until I read on the BHA's site what they were. Then they made sense.
