Who Has Raced Greyhounds? Tell Us Your Story!
I am sure that many of us are very new to this sport. I have only been to one race and that was when I was 10 years old. I am very curious to hear about the raising and racing of greyhounds from some of you who are or have.

My family has owned a few.
One bitch won 2 races for us (cheapies). We owned a share in a very good dog who won 15 races and set a track record which i think still stands. Then he used him as a stud to a bitch and its progeny has since won 10 races.

Uhh well we sold 2 of them,1 raced about 10 years ago. But we do still own 1 that has won 10 races but with our grading system she has no hope. She is a very good provincial sprinter but she is graded too high now and has to either run in Stakes Races or Metropolitan Races and she has tried and had no hope. Now she has to run up in distance too have a lesser company but she really tires down the stretch.

Ive owned two dogs over the last few years but since sold them on and haven't bought a new one for over 6 mths .Both were successfully up to A2 at Sunderland.
Loved the sport when my grandad took me to White City many years ago.

I've only been to Shawfield, many years ago, and the old Wembley, even longer ago. I think the night i was at Shawfield all the races were handicaps. One thing missing from GM is the weights of the dogs which i think you often get in real life.
At Wembley we were at the front so we were standing below the level of the track and as the dogs shot by waist high you couldn't help but be absolutely amazed at the speed of them!
I enjoy GM so roll on GM2.
