AP not nominated for sports personality awards
i could not believe It when I saw AP didn't get nominated, it's no wonder racing audiences are in decline when some one that jumps into sand pit is rated above AP in achievement. Perhaps if the media start treating horse racing as a sport and not just a betting tool people in the sport will get the recognition they deserve.

I can understand your point however he retired in April so was only active for a third of the year. Athletics has also recieves a big push from the BBC and government. I think the fact he already won the award counted against him in this case too. It would be more fitting for him to recieve a lifetime achievement award or something like that.

Who Cares.
The award's a joke just like the bbc's coverage of sport, full stop. How can they have a award when they don't have sport on the channel anymore.
I think ITV 4 should have a award because they have more sport on that channel.

Re: AP not nominated for sports personality awards
SPOTY is becoming a bit of a joke regarding nominations, for example Tai Woffinden became speedway world champion, British champion and raised over £100,000 for his charity this year alone. Yet because speedway is considered by the BBC to be a minority sport he wasn't even in the running.

Like I said yesterday, a lifetime achievement award would be fitting and McCoy will be given just that at SPOTY.
