Post SIGN UP FOR THE GREYHOUND PRO LEAGUE'S INAUGURAL SEASON
........................ Image

It would be good to have at least 15 players committed to the league before we set a start date for the new season. So for those that would like to compete in the Greyhound Pro League's Inaugural Season, please post your Trainer name, Kennels name, the country you are from and an approximate number of dogs you think you might be able to enter into competition in this thread... http://gallopracerseries.yuku.com/topic/13709

If we get enough players signed up, I would like to suggest that we go to 20 races a week, utilizing two tracks.

1.....Whats Up boys...........Whats Up Boys............Castle Hill Kennels(next to the stables)..........England
2.....Jim Cougar..................Jim Cougar...................Cougar Estates Kennels.................................USA
3.....Denny Stables............Darrel Denton...............HAREA51 KENNELS..........................................UK
4.....SHannaford................Shayne Hannaford........City Bound Lodge............................................AUS
5.....Slim Kennels................Gavin Andrews............Slim Kennels....................................................AUS
6.....DCM Greyhounds........Martin Carr...................DCM Greyhounds.............................................England
7.....Babyalah Kennels.......Dawn Campbell............Babyalah Kennels............................................England
8.....Divine2k2k..................Divine2k2k....................Cortex Kennels................................................England
9....rcwakeling....................Liam Jay.......................kayel 'n aitch kennels.........................................?
10...Teejay........................Teejay..........................Teejay's Uber Kennels........................................AUS
11...BrettCox.....................BrettCox.......................Rattle N Roll Kennels..........................................AUS
12...Selseyseal..................Kelvin Chandler............Chandler Stud Kennels......................................England

No one else has a kennels ready or soon-to-be-ready kennels for the Inaugural season? This league has such amazing potential. It is a shame to see it sitting idle.

Sorry about that! I am still trying to get used to the new Yuku board system. As the owner I have two accounts, my regular account and a support account. When someone joins an email is sent to my support account and a notice is supposed to then appear at the top of the board on my main account. I then switch to the support account, reply to the email which then approves you. That IS NOT how happens every time though. Sometimes I get an email sent to my email account. I then only have to go to main account and check for Pending Members that need to be approved. Your email came into my support account, BUT I never received a notice on my main account that you had applied. I didn't know until you posted here that you were waiting. Weird.

Several members are chomping at the bit sort of speak, to get the Inaugural season started. Because of this I am considering beginning the season once we have 10 committed players to the new league. That makes 2 more to go. Others can join after the league has begun.

Post WE HAVE REACHED THE NEW TARGET OF 10 TRAINERS
Well, we have reached 10!

Okay, so let me have 24 hours to submit a schedule of events to take place leading up to Opening Day. This will include the dog files submission deadline, seasonal schedule and a GPL hat write up. The write up will include instructions on how to submit files, how to submit Entries to the weekly races, etc.

Hi there and welcome to Mark's Strategic Designs forums. General information about Greyhound Manager can be discussed here. However, if you wish to find out about the Greyhound Prol League, you will need to come over to my Online Racing League World forums, in particular the Greyhound Pro League Inaugural Season. The link to that particular forum is right here. http://www.gallopracerseries.yuku.com/forums/231.

to know which distance races we will be running you will need to look at the GREYHOUND PRO LEAGUE'S EXHIBITION TRACK RECORDS. You can find that thread in this forum or in the forum on my board. They are both up to date. Do not let the times scare you though. If you would like to build up a kennels quickly and maybe join us mid-season read my posting in this forum on how to build up a league competitive kennels fast. I think it will help you.

The Inaugural season will be somewhere around 12 weeks for regular racing with a couple of weeks for season-ending chamnpionship competition. There will be a break for the Christmas holidays though.

We will probably have a maxium kennels of 40 dogs. That number is totally based on the number of dog listings the league-only Race Builder will allow without having to scroll the screen up. Because I will be screen capturing every Trainer's kennels roster and posting it in a separate forum for their and other trainers' viewing, I do not want to have to capture two screens. It will just take too much time each week. And it will have to be done every week in order to update the trainers' kennels roster.

When you have a chance, check out the Starters Orders Pro League's TRAINER'S OFFICE MANAGER (TOM) located here http://www.sopl.info/tom/tom4/index2.php. An amazing ORLWorld member by the name of DodgyDave, created and maintains that league operational program for the SOPL. I believe he started building it for the SOPL's third season and they are now into their seventh. It is now up to version 4. Version 5 which is being built now, promises to host leagues from any of Strategic Design's games including Greyhound Manager. So hopefully by Season II, it will be run entirely in TOM, thus endnig our need to screen capture kennels rosters.

There will probably be 12 races ran each week. Players will be able to submit a Primary and a Secondary Entry to each race. Primaries will qualify first and if there is enough room, Secondaries will be chosen to fill up the races.

Shayne Hannaford is our Race Grader. He has written a program that will sort dogs into races. I am the Race Secretary and run the races in the league-only Race Builder each week.

Race Day is always Friday morning Los Angeles time. Entry Deadline for the following week is always Saturday noon, Los Angeles time. Shayne has written a little spreadsheet program that makes it very simple to submit Entries on a weekly basis.

Well, thats it for now. Visit us on the other site and ask any further questions that you may have. I am sure Darrell and the others will be more than happy to answer them for you. We look forward to seeing you competing in the GPL soon!
