Re: The Grand Finale - Preparations for the last SO6 League
I think for yourself John - and Paul - the improvements you gain at the top must be quite small - I have no doubt that you both will have a cracking season I am starting to get consistent favourable bars in my breeding now and I am expecting to field a strong stable of handicappers on the flat. I doubt I'll bounce over the 100 mark but my aim is to better my winners tally from last season. My aim on the Hunt is to just crack my first ever winner - which I came close to doing last season and I think I am a real chance to do it this coming season.

I have no doubts you will get double figure jumps winners this term Doug Yes I have found it tough making improvements you have to test breed with gamebreds and this can be painstaking and the truth is you wont know until they run in the league as you just cant replicate the league at home look at Alexander the Great he was a world beater in my CK and won 1 race i think in the league will be fun seeing how my team fair i will be happy to be competitive TBH. I have no doubts i will be a mid table jumps trainer this year as I have done very little just quickly bred from what i already had and it will be a struggle but I dont deserve anymore as I just have not put the time in.

Re: The Grand Finale - Preparations for the last SO6 League
Quick question re returners.
My main game crashed at the weekend so have lost most of what I'd done since the last season apart from ones I had already exported. Found a backed up save though but it is from a point around the start of last season.
Subsequently my team for this season may have more returners than planned. My questions are thus:
1. Do horses retain their handicap mark from prior season or get reset. 2. Are horses still bound by the distance qualification from previous seasons. Most of my returner horses need a longer trip at 3 or 4. 3. Are NH horses pre qualified for both chases and hurdles if they were previously. 4. Can a novice return as a novice and can a previous open horse return as a novice (seems unfair if they can but worth asking)
Cheers muchly in advance

Re: The Grand Finale - Preparations for the last SO6 League
As far asI am aware Martin these are the answers.
1. Do horses retain their handicap mark from prior season or get reset. They retain their marks. 2. Are horses still bound by the distance qualification from previous seasons. Most of my returner horses need a longer trip at 3 or 4. This can be reset, at least with 2yo going up to 3yo although Sirius may query it as TOM shows it as an error. It can be manually overidden so not a problem. 3. Are NH horses pre qualified for both chases and hurdles if they were previously. Yes 4. Can a novice return as a novice and can a previous open horse return as a novice (seems unfair if they can but worth asking). I think all novices are automatically upped to open but better check with Leon or Gray. A previous open horse cannot return as a novice.
