Post Horses Who Have Beaten Winx
Check out this interesting article about horses who have beaten Winx.

First Seal - is a 'what could have been' horse who was definitely better than Winx.

Also check out the video in the link of the horse - Gust Of Wind - tailed off last after jumping the gates. An amazing race and a great call as well.

Thanks Paul. Winx is the best mare in the world - anyone who follows horse racing understands that.

Its not just Peter its the British media too they seem to think any horse has to come to the UK to prove themselves
that mentality just really irritates me greatly it comes over as being totally snobbish.

I cant understand why people cant appreciate good horses where ever they are based or run.

In actual fact the UK season finale has become somewhat of a none event its always been behind Arc weekend
& Irish Champions Weekend which is superbly situated in the race calendar has gone a head of it and gains
stronger Fields.

I love racing all over the world and appreciate British racing and respect it greatly but its not the be all that
some people make it out to be. & Winx does not have to come here to prove herself hats ridiculous.

Oh P.S the Irish had quite a season when you look at the stats of UK g1s this year.

Oh im half Irish half English BTW

It’s not a British thing PJ, of course everyone knows the Irish horses are as good, as are the French. Of course she doesn’t have to come to Europe to prove herself, she’s obviously a very good horse, one of the best Australian horses of all time, but to claim to be the best in the world she has to race against the best in the world surely! And the best horses in the world at herbdistances are in Europe, I really don’t think this can be disputed!

Cant imagine Enable running in the Prince of Wales either she needs every yard of
12 furlongs I think she would get badly outpaced over 10 furlongs TBH more likely she
will run in the Coronation Cup the week before.

Also Winter is now retired

Sorry i'm not here to be nice, i'm here to give my views. I'm not disputing she's a good horse but most the time she's beating horses who wouldn't win group 3's in England. The standard over in aus is nothing compared to europe. Hartnell is one example. As for enable she travelled pretty powerful in the Arc and showed a brilliant turn of foot. I'd be amazed if enable dodged Winx if she appeared in he Prince Of Wales.

I dont think Enable will run in the prince of wales, but regardless of this, the best horses over 8-10 furlongs are in Europe, not Australia, if she runs in the prince of wales she will be taking on the best in the world in Cracksman, Barney Roy etc, these are horses that she does not face the likes of in Australia

But who she does face she beats easily.
Hartnell still doesn't know what Winx's face looks like - he's only ever seen her rump from a distance.

I am fairly certain Winx will compete in Europe next summer.

She will be six. Hopefully her connections give her time to acclimatise and give her a full season.

I would love to see her come to Europe! Out of interest, do you think she’s be better off running in the prince of Wales or the Queen Anne?

Tough call! Her recent Spring prep' here, the 1600m/mile seemed to be a bit short - she had no speed early in her races but motored home in sensational fashion each time. She knows what the winning post is about. At Ascot with the up-hill run - that may suit her compared to relatively flat Rosehill and Randwick. I am lead to believe English racing doesn't have as much speed early in a race (besides pacemakers) so that will be to her advantage.

The Prince of Wales will probably suit her fine but personally she probably wouldn't want to go much further than that at Ascot. To win 3 Cox Plates in a row here in Oz over 2050m - is special. She's as good, if not better than So You Think and she runs on any going.

I can't choose to be honest - but I will lean towards the Prince of Wales.

She'll have a short Australian Autumn prep to see where she is at and if all is good she will head over to Blighty. Winx has won $15,627,925aud in prize money - she has nothing left to prove over here.

I think Winx is a classy horse, definitely up there with the best on known form. However there is a nagging doubt that the best middle distance turf horses are in Europe between the Irish, British and French, and I'm guessing connections do too or they wouldn't even entertain brining her over next summer. It cant be total coincidence over the years that so many under achieving horses here go to Australia and are suddenly able to compete in their top Group 1 contests.

I hope it happens and she has a long and successful campaign over here, I really look forward to seeing her in the flesh.

I don't think they will bring her over, they're on a hiding to nothing if they do. She can run in the mile races and beaten Group 2 horses like Beat The Bank all she wants, but nobody will think any more of her for doing so because our mile division will be so sub-standard next season. She could be interesting in the Sussex Stakes if the Guineas winner rocks up, but the ground could end up going against her. If they were to race her against Cracksman or Enable, I don't see how Winx has the stamina to compete with them over 10 furlongs. They will kick on three furlongs from home and run the pace out of her.

She has won on slow or heavy going in Australia - she will handle your summer tracks with ease. She will easily sustain a 3 furlong sprint for home. Winx is better over 10f than 8f.
The owners and trainer will never have another horse like her - she's done everything she can do in Australia multiple times. She has bagged $15.5 million aud in prize money so the connections are risking nothing. Her stud career in Australia is guaranteed even if she loses in England and if she wins in England then it goes through the roof and if the connections are smart they line her up with Galileo or Frankel etc.
The only temptation keeping her home in Oz is a fourth Cox Plate which is just over 10f.
