Re: Weekly Reaction
The start to the week was going awfully until 2 late winners in the hunt
Fort Lordadale Old reliable wins again giving weight away and wow how he won it took the race by the scruff of the neck. since the window he has had 8 races 4 wins 3xG1 1xG2 and 2 places and his run today justifies the descision to bring him back. He has also notched up £750,000 in career earning by far my jumps stable star and going to breed the heck out of him
Borrisheena Got her second win of the season she has raced in all 13 weeks not too consistent but a decent yardstick.
Congrats to the winners and placers
great comms as always
and a huge thanks to the team

Re: Weekly Reaction
Nothing to report on the flat but a very good day in the NH with 4 winners.
Imperial Vale Boy notched up his 6th win of the season. He is easily my best horse this season.
Summer Vale Girl won her 4th race of the season.
The are both 2m 4f hurdlers so a good place to start next seasons breeding. I would have liked one of my chasers to do well but most of them have only been average at best.
The vast majority of the rest of my NH runners this week are in handicaps, so don't hold out much hope for their chances but the big G1 races on the flat are still to come.
Congrats to all the winners and placers.
Jim

Re: Weekly Reaction
Well Miss C Dential won again for the second time over the chase and gave me my fourth Hunt win of the season, so I am very happy about that! After being quietly confident at the start of the Hunt season, it got off to a very slow start - it was that slow that I really questioned why I was fielding a Hunt stable - then in Week four, Miss C Dential bobbed up with a surprise win. It was that win and Deep Miss showing something in week five that kept me interested, otherwise I probably would have abandoned my Hunt team.
Two seasons in a row that my Melb Cup horse ran 7 or 8 deep the entire race and still stuck on down the straight. No chance of winning but Koo Miss did run third in the Sydney Cup over two miles so I was hoping for a top five finish again - but that is racing.
Congrats to Leon winning the Melbourne Cup in the last stride or two of the race - a very exciting finish.
A shout out to a job well done to the race runners and handicappers and to also single out and highlight Gray and Leon.
Well done to the Comms team. It's great to have four other callers to share the load and four distinct characters and accents who bring their own style to give the races a bit of colour and flavour.
Good luck to all on the final day.
Doug

Yes - Congrats to Aiden - Once my horses were beat I actually cheered your horse past the post - such a gutsy win on a dog of a track

Re: Weekly Reaction
No winners for me today my usual collection of sodding seconds. Jim may run you close Paul in the cup, but I think your safe for the combined comp.

Re: Weekly Reaction
The Nh was poor, only managed one 4th place but the flat was much better with 2 x G1 winners. Both Signal Road Girl and High Trick were given very good draws and were able to hug the rail all the way round. pjrhodes1970 wrote: Think Jim is way ahead Josh and its squeaky bum time in the flat me and Steve dead level on 53 each There's nothing much between us in the Cup Paul, I think it is 6 - 5 in my favour. It will probably come down to Penalties and I have very few 2nd or 3rd places so far.

Re: Weekly Reaction
Well usually the biggest give away is if a jockey stands up in the irons and i didn't see any do that - so from that angle I'd say you were robbed. I guess vision from above and looking down on the field would be the only way to tell if anything really happened.

Re: Weekly Reaction
Congrats again to Aiden Murphy winning his second race of the season - well Done Also to Alex Cherrie and Jamie Hopkins for picking up winners in the Hunt as well - Congrats Couldn't believe my horse Mr Sandtail falling at the last when looking the winner - but when I saw Jamie's horse take the lead in the straight, I thought fair enough - always good to see a 'battler trainer' pick up a win. Well deserved

Re: Weekly Reaction
One final winner on the last day of the season came Courtesy of Heir Apparent who just got up to win the Pegasus it was not enough to see off Steve in the Championship well done Steve
Also big well done to Josh who won both jumps titles you can see this years roll of honour on the DCC Page
Special Mention to Moilets Surfer & Carl Arrogante who made big moves this season but no dount mover of the season is Josh.
Congratulations to all the winners and placers
A HUGE thanks to the team for their hard work all season long from the handicappers to the race runners and of course our brilliant president who has at times had a testing season but handled it all in his stride.
Thanks to Martin Stu & Doug for the continued brilliant race shows praying you will all be back next season just would not be the same without you guys also thanks to the other commentators.
I Guess all is left to say is see you all next season oh and GET BREEDING

Re: Weekly Reaction
I cant believe my horse Navigable River won the Paul Moores final. I never thought that finishing line would come soon enough Anyway, a great ending to a great season for me. 23 wins sees me up nine from last season, and my Hunt team was way better this year. I also got a grade 1 and a grade 2 win. So for me, this was a successful season. Next season will be harder, I think, but I work on my breeding and will be happy to be a part of this great league anyway. Thanks to everybody involved, race runners, handicappers and commentators. I would have liked to buy you all a beer, but I am not sure how that can be easily done Roll on next season!
