Silly Question Time
really enjoying SO7. just a couple of things i can't figure out-
on your stable listing what does the "F" on a blue background mean before a horse's name?
on the breeding screen what does the "F" in the breeding status column mean? i think i have seen this both with a green and red background
thanks
also looking at the stud fees of colts in the UK game a top 6 colt costs around 40,000 GBP and the equivalent in the US game is 400,000 USD. why is there such a huge difference??

Re: Silly Question Time
I wouldn't bet my mortgage on it but I think the F in the breeding screen means the horse is fertile and the red F means horse is not fertile.
I have bred a fertile stud with a non-fertile mare successfully, so maybe I am wrong about this.

Re: Silly Question Time
I suspect it means that. It might also mean to have a chance getting a red F horse successfully bred, you have to mate it with a green F horse. Though perhaps even then it is a dice roll, just a better one? Not done enough breeding yet in 7.

Re: Silly Question Time
A horse with a red F means that the horse is not very fertile (typically seen on sires), green F means that the horse is very fertile (typically seen on mares). Just because a horse has a red F doesn't mean that it's not possible to breed with. (Your head lad my also comment about the fertile-ness of the horse.) A horse's fertility may change during the year (I've seen mares start the year very fertile and then change to normal fertility, and sires change from not fertile to normal).
Two options: make sure you check off "Repeat if breeding unsuccessful", or the "cheating way": save your game when the mating has two days to go and then forward one day - if the breeding doesn't work reload and try again.
