Post Re: Oaks & Derby!
I rewatched it again, just to make sure I'm not going crazy. Guyon is quite active on him early but he isn't getting touched at all, he doesn't handle the bend very well, gets a bump in the straight but loses no momentum, Guyon collects himself then Hard Dream clears out a path like Moses and the red sea. If the French press are saying it's remarkable he came 2nd then I don't think they have a clue what they are talking about. I presume it's probably because an unfashionable horse/trainer won but everytime I watch it I'm more impressed by the jockey and the horse and think he was a fair winner.

JOB tries to go up the inside which is crazy, hits the trouble, gets snatched up, loses 5 lengths and all momentum before getting back together.

having the snatch up did not cost the horse 5 lengths, having no turn of foot cost him a few tho

guyon had to sit and suffer for 2 furlongs, then got smahsed between two horses, it hardly opened up like the red sea, if that didnt cost any momenutum then i dont think you can say having to snatch up for one stride cost 5 lengths.

Seriously mate what replay are you watching, he gets mullered on the rail then switches round the whole field. The momentum alone cost him 3/4 lengths. Future will tell but lm pretty confident this horse will be a group winner and more than likely even with the shite press will be odds on

I dont think anyone has said he cant win a group race, he wont be winning a group 1 over 1m2 though, thats for sure.

He switched round the field, but while in the process of switching and being ridden, he had plenty of space in front of him and he couldnt quicken, once he got to the outside and straightened, he still coudlnt qucken! Once he finally gets going he stays on for 8th well beaten.

It was a good run from a horse at a trip short of his best, but nothing to suggest he should have won this race, if he quickens instantly after having to check, and runs onto to be beaten 2 or 3 lengths then youd maybe have a case.

He will make a nice 2 miler one day.

I hope to see him run as a 4yo but I somehow doubt it

I have ridiculous amounts of respect for Juddmonte for allowing Frankel to have a 4yo career. I know the money involved in breeding but superstars should be allowed to race and they are great for the sport. I would love to see Camelot go for the St Leger and the Arc before coming back next year for a 4yo stint.

Will we ever see him race Frankel over 1m2f?? Would be as eagerly anticipated as Kauto Star vs Denman - although Camelot would need to improve a lot to challenger Frankel and I am sure he will!!!

i have to say i thought camelot was a special horse the day i saw him break his maiden, showed an effortless turn of foot that day but im afraid i cannot take this horse seriously as a potential all time great when his connections are running away from frankel, i would love to see a triple crown winner but in my opinion if there was no frankel there would be no st leger, call me cynical but........

Frankel hasnt even stepped up from a mile yet Quel, Camelot is a 1m4 horse, Irish Derby, Eclipse, King George, Arc all there for him.

Frankel wont be in any of these races so to say they are running away from Frankel is nonsense, he has just won the Guineas and Derby, they have not had the chance to run away from anyone yet and if they decide to go for the triple crown, the decision will have nothing at all to do with with Frankel because as ive said, he wont even be in the other big races Camelot can go for.

Looking like Frankel wont step up to 1m2 until York which is dissappointing as they gave the impression last year that he would be having a middle distance campaign. If Frankel was due to run in the Eclipse, which dosent look likely, id be surprised if Coolmore did not try to beat him there with Camelot because of the weight allowance in that race. If that race were to happen in the Eclipse, my money would be on Camelot.

Post Re: Oaks & Derby!
people banging on about frankel he has stayed at the one trip because the owner and trainer didnt have the balls to do what coolmore did with camelot
IMO Frankel is still unproven at further distances i now think he would stay 1m2f but what camelot has done as a 3yo beats what frankel did
4f difference in distance 2 classics frankel is a truely great horse he also should have gone for the derby but his connections too over protective i said it last year
people will always bang on what did he beat well he beat what was put infront of him and easily cant do anymore than that there is alot more to come ran a timer quicker than st nic
same course day trip that is exceptional

Quote:
if there was no frankel there would be no triple crown attempt
mate thats a joke they are thinking of making history frankel does not even come into there thinking and
fair play to them balls to do what sea the stars should have done he would have won the triple crown

the lads have said they are getting to the age where they may never get a chance to win the triple crown again and fair play they have not protected camelot like frankel has been protected
