 Re: Horse Name Database
Try this... http://www.mediafire.com/?0cih3n3wivxku3kWhat download progam are you using? winrar works fine open the file with notepad, but all you really need to do is to copy and paste the horses.dat file into your SO5/data/1 folder and start a new game for it to take effect.

 Re: Horse Name Database
Great Job!!! Bravo!!!
I do want to clear up something that a lot of people thought of. Apparently you can add more names to the database than the set number. I added over 250 names to the original database and it ran fine. No problems at all. I'm not sure if it just stops at the default number (i think it was 16076 or something like that) and starts from the beginning again or runs right down the list til it runs out, not sure exactly what happens. But whatever happens I know for sure that you can exceed the 16076 easily so I guess you could make the list contain 50000 names or what ever (maybe a million haha).

 Re: Horse Name Database
Are you sure you didnt delete anything mjtags, as ive renamed the whole dastabase and if you dont have the exact number "16076" the game crashes,ie when you start a new game, which you need to do for them to work,it happened to me everytime there wasnt the exact number of horses in the data file.

 Re: Horse Name Database
I second that Taurus - 16076 it has to be (I'm sounding like Yoda now!!)

 Re: Horse Name Database
Lots of posts gone missing here, but I tried mjtags horses.dat file, and it worked fine in a new game for me without causing a crash (with 16176). I think the problem may lie with going UNDER the required minimum number, rather than above. Time will tell if the horse names over the 16076 are used, or whether the game reverts back to horse #1 on the list, I dont have the time to test that out I'm afraid.
Apologies mjtags, looks like you were right.
