Cruise, Potential an Extra speed only to start. I just went through all the opening stallions, an available mares you can buy. Never found anything 100% pot, only had a few extra speed 95 an the highest cruise I found was 60, but rare. That was over 7 games. Probably could have gotten a start off it an played a few seasons further to get the rest. I just didn't have the time to get anything going for 20 seasons to find it, then try an get the 'JuJu'

I think Confidence is one I like to try an add in too. Plays a bigger part than most people think probably

I've known for about 3 seasons that my flat team was peaking if I'm honest. I have grown really attached to the lines though an actually enjoy the breeding of those horses with league form now.

I just massively got lucky last season, in that most people gave up on the flat an I probably peaked my games at the same time

I have been trying to start a new flat save as I feel my current save has progressed as far as I can take it. When I started my current save it was the same as mentioned in a previous post, I am sure the bars were not visible. The majority of the flat horses I uploaded this season are 97% potential at 3yo, 60% CB and 83% ES.

With the new saves I did all the usual stuff, advanced 5 seasons at the start, bought every mare and matched one mare with every stallion in the barn.

I have now started 4 saves without finding the correct building blocks. In all the saves I found at least 95% ES and 80% CB. It was the potential where the problem lay. I could not find a single horse that maxed out at 100%. The best I found was 93% as a 3yo and the potential never moved again. In all the saves I progressed the horses until 7yo just in case there were any late bloomers.

Not sure where to go from here. Probably gonna wait for SO8 before doing any more serious breeding.

Sometimes it requires a little more patience in my experience, not every horse goes to stud so they’re maybe something you need lurking in the most unexpected places. Quite recently I have made a new discovery in my NH game, I shall clue you in once I have made it stick, and assuming it actually makes a difference ;).

There was a problem last night getting the horses organised to run the league races so decided to use the time and give a new save one more try. Instead of starting the save with 5 years of form, I started with 10 years of form. Don't ususally start with 10 years as it takes about 30 minutes on my laptop to initialise the save.

With 5 years there are about 150 stallions in the barn, with 10 years there was about 350 stallions in the barn. Took me hours to check all 350 stallions but it was worth it in the end. Managed to breed this colt with about 93% potential at 1yo. Also found a 97% ES and 83% CB.

Need to start running races for the league so it will be a while before I find out how this guy progresses.

Whilst I would not normally advocate rolling the game forward at the start as you could lose the very bars you want in those ten years, seems that game held some good stuff, but it was there from the 1st year. That game could be interesting:)

This also underlines why the game is just a question of luck and time, I know many disagree with me on this, but it really is. There are lots of ‘if’s’ still to come but if you stick this all together, if they age until 4 and if you have the juju on that game also, it’s just a matter of time before your top of the pile. People who did not use the tff never really understood it, but the tff made everyone equal. With the tff everyone could counter this by going and finding the missing bits for their own game and bringing it in, removing just makes the whole process a question of how many times your prepared to keep restarting the game. That said I have had a lot of games with monster bars and no juju to go with them.

I've never restarted the game, my best flat game and jumps were one and done. If we had another 2 or 3 league seasons left my new jumps and flat game would also be one and done. One thing i found with the ttfs was it made the game really tedious, doing this way makes the game harder and more of a challenge plus when u made a good horse more satisfaction, perhaps thats just me.

I don’t disagree with that John, my issue is your limited to what your game produces, you can work it and squeeze it and refine it but if you don’t have the same available pool of horses as someone else there is nothing much you can do. 90 seasons on my original flat game taught me that, the NH for me feels like it is going the same way, I can recycle the same horses over and over but an actual step forward seems almost impossible so it’s just a waiting game to be bettered by someone with a better core of horses.

The one thing that i would have liked is for the AI to throw out random horses much later in the game instead of everything happening within the first 15 to 20 seasons. Like throw out a high potential-cruise-speed horse through out the game so if u not got what u need early on u could still find it later on in the game, even if they were totally random. U would more likely keep playing the game instead of just breeding with u own horses.

I have never restarted a game. Seemed to have done ago over the years with that process. Still playing the same game. Split now in flat and NH but I can only do about 5 to 7 seasons between leagues so can't improve much. Have loads in both teams I had last season.

Ideally I think I would need about 15 to 20 seasons to be ultra competitive but time doesn't allow that

I did 6 seasons on the NH between seasons, probably twice that on the flat and it shows. Though I am pretty underwhelmed with my NH lot this year so I have already breed another 6 which will be going to trial in the coming weeks. Time and luck :)

I agree with this statement Josh. Although my flat horses are still winning the ocassional race, they are not as competetive as in previous seasons and I put that down partly to not having the time to breed many seasons in between leagues but also I think I have peaked with what I can do with my 98 season save.

In between race running and commentating, I have managed to sqeeze in a couple of seasons in my new save.

The horse pictured above, Possible Colt, has just turned 3yo and has maxed out his potential at 100%. He has a brother and three sisters who were bred in the same season, the four of them have also reached 100% potential at 3yo. The brother and three sisters have poor green bars but I have some other horses with poor potential but nice looking green bars, some with 97% ES and 83% CB. Hopefully, the JuJu is also in there someplace.

Just need to find the time to do some breeding. Unfortuneately, I don't have much free time at the moment.

Jim

Looks like I picked the right time to refocus on the NH :)
