NEW SEASON START DATE
New Season will start 24th January 2025, hopefully this date will not be changed
There will be a break after Wk6 with uploads allowed
Any news about season will be posted in here
Looking for people to verify if they are race running again

Alex If there are going to be uploads after week 6, are going to be retirements as well?

Re: NEW SEASON START DATE
Hey! See in regards to race running, is it difficult? I’m not great with computers but can usually figure out how to do things if told how to. If it’s fairly easy I can volunteer for race running if needed.

Probably a little long winded but tried to cover everything. https://youtu.be/KPUVREue6SMIf you have any questions just ask. If I am not available, hopefully someone will answer. Jim Just watched the video and noticed a small mistake in naming the race, should have been something like this FR1 WK13 Jims Race Also noticed my mouse pointer hasn't always been been recorded.. Told you I was an amateur at producing instructional videos.

Ah that’s perfect!! Looks relatively straight forward, I could help out if needed. Think I would need a trial run to make sure I can do it before it all starts though. Do you have to pay for bandicam or Dropbox at all?

Re: NEW SEASON START DATE
You have to pay for Bandicam but there are several free alternatives that do a decent job.
OBS gets a good write up in the computer magazines.
I have the paid version of Dropbox because I also use it for the two golf clubs I help do stuff for. The big difference is the storage capacity. I would need to go check the current limitations of the free version but it used to be 2GB. The race video files are large so the 2GB is probably not enough for the normal use of Dropbox. There is a way around this. I will try and make another video to demonstrate. It mostly involves tweaking the Dropbox setttings so that only the race file you are currently working on is stored on your laptop. Everything else is stored in the cloud, on the interent.
The turn around should be about two days. The races need to be run and uploaded to dropbox early enough that the commentators have plenty of time to do their bit. Nominations for races close at 5pm UK time and Alex usually has the files ready by about 6pm. My personal opinion is all races should be run by midnight Sunday. Last season some races were not run until a Tuesday and Martin and I were scrambling at the last minute trying to add commentary on a Tuesday night so races were ready to be viewed the next day.
What version of windows do you use? I still prefer windows 10 but I also have windows 11 installed. I can try and make the video with the same operating system that you use.

Re: NEW SEASON START DATE
Hi all, I'm happy to RR if I can. I was thinking, maybe I and Adam can run 2 or 3 basic trials next week. We can practice to make sure we know how/can do it.
Also everyone gets a little look to see how they are going? Doesn't matter if there are 3 horses or 20.
Nothing special, maybe a mile, 1.2 and 1.4? and 3 jumps ( i have no clue what is basic for jumps haha).
No commentry need
