 Not here for long
Hi guys, just back from hospital and thought I would pop in and let you know what was happening. I have cancer of the liver which is inoperable and only have a month or two to live. I'm not looking for sympathy but I thought you all should know that when I stop entering races or posting anything then I 'm likely not able to for an obvious reason. I would just like to say I've had a great time over the years playing this game and a big shout to all guys who make this online league possible. If I'm still around when the next season starts I'll try and find a few donkeys to throw in.

Some great names and many with musical connections which I think I spotted right back in my very first day when you had a horse called Hairless Toy. Also you have been one of the trainers I have targeted that I might be able to get a similar amount of winners as so you have been a 'friendly rival' without knowing it. You are and always will be a Starters Orders legend mate.

 Re: Not here for long
Cancer is a disgusting thing generally and the fact it claims good people is the sickest joke of all. Can only say how sorry i am to hear this news and how enjoyable its been to run my nags against yours over these league seasons .Without being premature as thankfully youre still among us i propose a whole weeks races big and small to be named in youre honour if possible . All the best and i hope you make the most of the time you have left

 Re: Not here for long
Very sad to hear. You probably the longest playing member in the league and will be a very big loss.

Sorry to head this David. I know you have been around here for years. It's a very small league and I know most of you know each other very well and you will be missed. Best wishes.

 Re: Not here for long
Shocking news, you will be sorely missed Dave. You’ve been part of the furniture since SOPL days & a consistent player, I think we should retire your silks from the league. I hope the final days are kind. Stu.

 Re: Not here for long
Sorry to hear of your news. I 100% agree with Stu about retiring your silks when the time comes. Not sure if you have a race named after you but I think it would be most appropriate if there is.
All the best with the final trek of your journey.
Doug.
