Agree it cant be done, but maybe Trainers might consider not running in races where a returning horse should be carrying a penalty, they know it, which makes it all the harder to swallow It might not of made any difference but you never know.

I'm not getting involved with that one, I'm staying silent for a change

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Good day 3 for me with 4 winners on the flat Emerald Spell - Continues to make a mockery of me. I now accept this horse wont be rated in the 90s. 3 from 3 in top races now. I could have entered this horse 3 league seasons ago Wonder how he'd have gone Easy Destiny - After a slow start to the season he's starting took like what I thought. Been in my trials consistently high for some time. Those horses tend to be decent in the league as they are good no matter how the race is run. He's a big breeder for me for if we go again next season with almost immaculate stats too. Miracle of Maldives - I have no idea how this won the Irish Guineas, but I'll take it Loves Newmarket on Good ground at home an completely flopped having won the trial. Absolutely hates the Curragh on softer ground at home, an won well. Josh is right, it's all just a guessing game this Silly Little Investment - Defying top weight to win a handicap, likel to be the last of his season. Doesn't seem good enough for group races, an will be handicapped out of anything else now Got to say I felt for Jaei. Not sure if the Lockinge would have been your first group 1, but I was actually half routing for yours in the photo. Sure it'll come though gone with a 30lb rise for my Frisco Lantern. Probably other horses won as well, but as I felt it had clearly been running at the wrong distance I had to. Which was an accident, uploaded as 6f with 7f stats. I have a lot of these but never really see improvement stepping them up. He wont be running in any handicaps for a while unless he's spanked out of sight stepping up in grade Thanks to all keeping it going in the background, as always appreciated

Been a good couple of weeks with a grade 2 and listed win in the NH. I’m starting to think my ambitious target of 40 wins combined over both codes might be possible. Especially if I can actually get off the board in the Hunter chases.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Disappionting I was winning the most 3rds, thats what we count as the best trainer, right? haha So after four weeks, I'm right my milers are still so far off group races. My 2 year olds are very good, stayers are solid. 1m4 horses not a clue. I can't believe how bad Cadgers Ghost has been, maybe luck has been against but hasn't even been near it. Looks like there is a 3 tier system on the flat, I was hoping to be a little closer to those top 3, but still a decent gap. Time to start picking races better, go for wins not just group wins. Vinny, no questions your effort and "mistakes' or incorrect ratings happen, if they do, go tell them to go get (pick your word )

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Quote: I guess winning by default (in my eyes) for top trainers (sorry Josh) doesn’t matter, as long as its a win and numbers on the board Easy tiger. For clarity there is nothing I can do to change the way the returning horse is rated and this has never been called out before so your being a little harsh in singling me out. You can solve this with any of the following: 1 - Ban returning horses, but the league would lose something and so would the trainers. 2 - Ask Leon to change the TOM…… but I think the issue is the horse file rather than the TOM 3 - Get creative and manually run a false racekit race in a G1 with the older version of the horse file and then upload that older aged file but I am sure that will bugger the form? And a ball ache to implement and check. 4 - Edit the file directly? But dont know how? And note, everyone likes to win, me you everyone, it’s fundamentally the reason for the frustration. But you’re not going to get horses pulled unless it’s a universally accepted by all approach and they would still run even with the penalty..... PS - and if not the returning horse, the new one from my reserves will be basically the same and still beat you but you will also find it in handicaps in the early weeks of the season farming more wins……

O and another thing, no The Racey and The Shuttle don’t have the same parents. They are from totally different lines. I just have 400 mares and around 40 studs all who can produce quality and a game that’s so old I have been able to filter it in such a way that the only really different between them is their distance. So similar but not the same it’s actually quite rare for me to ever have the same parentage, once in a blue moon.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Great day for me. Oaks an Coronation double an denied a Derby win by an insane Jockey (took a pull 2 out for some reason). Great to finally see one of my horses get to Heart of Oak, AN ACTUALLY GO PAST!! Not sure how Spectacular Cadou held on in the 1m5 race but hopefully it will kick start his season
Thanks to all behind the scenes an all those with their toys firmly in their prams

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Very happy with my 3rd place in the Derby...looked for a while as though I was going to get my maiden Derby win but no shame in a narrow loss to Josh and Vinny. Congrats to Josh for winning two years in a row. Congrats too for Vinny on the Oaks and Coronation Cup double. Not sure if he reads this forum, but a big shout out to new trainer Michael Scala who got a 2nd in one of the All Weather Championship races - I know from last season how much of a buzz it is to get in and amongst it. Michael is on one of the Discord channels (not the one that most of us are on) with a lot of other non league players and he posted there a little while ago how excited he was and encouraging others to have a go next season! Lastly instead of the usual thank-you for those that run the league, a grumble of sorts to the race runners...seeing some real funky and arty camera angles on the flat this season...might be good viewing for some, but it is a bugger to commentate on! - you'll see what I mean with some of the day 3 races on Thursday!! Anyway all good ...just remember us commentators are that good that we don't go off the list of runners in the top left corner, we call what we see
