Well that was an embarrassment. Tailed off in all races but Victorian Bounty plugged on for 200 quid. Happy days

That being said really great to be part of this again. Really enjoyed the comms. Congrats to all the winners

Chin up mate, it’s a long season and we have all been where you are. You will learn more in the handicaps, remember tailed off is often also eased off.

Pretty much as I expected for my first attempt. Knew it was going to be a baptism of fire and so it proved.

NH;
Knew my NH horses were well underdone and weren't up to scratch.
Positives - at least I didn't come last in any of the races.

Flat;
Slightly disappointed, knew I wouldn't be winning but had hoped to be a little closer to the action.
Positives - Bold As Brass ran a good race to come 4th over a distance which didn't suit. Will be better over 2m.
And with hopefully easier races to come in the weeks ahead, I'll see some improvement across the board.

Conclusion;
Still excited to be in the League and looking forward to the next day's racing - and already working on improvements for my team for next season!

you made a far better start to the league than I did when I first joined you have to remember these maidens are like G1s
you have so much to look forward to trouble is most give up after the first week maidens as they can be soul destroying
think you beat home some of mine today

keep going the buzz of a winner is unreal and is coming to you SOON stay patient

Thanks Paul, tomorrow is another day, and who knows what will happen although I think my best chances will lie in some of the handicaps later on.
And thanks to everyone who has given me advice and encouragement thus far, without it I wouldn't have come as far as I have in this short space of time that's for sure

Only playing the league do u get the experience to compete, my first sesason i won 3 races all year on the flat and jumps. Everyone needs game time to get to know how to do things. When u get the h'caps it will be more fun . U got to just keep playing and keep going.

Imagine the commentator wanting some carnage, I don't remember Peter o Sullivan saying that  And who was this Alexa bird u talk to, imagine telling u misses to shut up

Now if there was one division in my chasers I thought I could win a maiden it certainly wasn't my two milers. That was a nice surprise considering I've struggled trying to get any improvement out of them since last season. Another disappointing performance by one of my stayers , they have to be a bunch of non stayers.

It's great to see so many different trainers win maidens and I'm sorry to Josh and Leon , my rubbish game bred made u horse go to quick in the st legers trial and I rushed to put him in and used Leon's colours.

Much more of the same on day 2, they all seem to be on the premises but just can't get involved and fall apart in the final furlong. There are definitely plenty of handicap winners in waiting there however.

Lucky Moon (7th) - Impressed here, much better than expected and level with a 90 rated horse so nice debut.

The Outlaw (10th) - Never put in the race, stayed on at the end, 10f seems the right distance.

Kew Corner (14th) - Never in the race, should be dangerous off a low handicap mark.

Easter Sunday (7th) - Stayed on well, reasonable start with more expected.

Suprastar (16th) - Just couldn't go with them when the pace lifted. Not the Oaks contender I'd hoped but will be very dangerous off a low mark.

Lucky Brother (14th) - Expected in all honesty, roll on handicaps.

The Predator (13th) - Just faded in the final furlong and couldn't go with them (similar theme across the board!) but not a bad run and more to come.

Death Star (12th) - Ran a great race for a long way, just fell apart in final furlong after strong fractions, drop to 1m1f should help.

Dancing Moon (11th) - Ran to expectations really!

Happy with my day 2 performance. NH horses still woefully off the pace and in hindsight I probably shouldn't have a had a NH stable.

My flat team, whilst I'm still searching for my first top three finish showed some promise. Voracious and Bad Medicine both ran well for a 4th and 6th respectively and were within 4 lengths of the winners.

The best horse in my stable, Fighting Edge ran a very creditable 4th only three and a quarter lengths back from the winner, made even more impressive by the fact that he was short of room two and a half furlongs out and the going wasn't to his liking. Will be aiming him for the Derby after this performance.

Going back a few weeks to the April trials I ran a horse in the 1m4f race at Haydock and finished just over 13 lengths behind the winner. I've put in a lot of work since then to improve my horses and have been rewarded with a 10 length improvement. So I am quite chuffed!

Much better day for me. A few places and top 5s. More importantly, horses were challenging not fading.

A slightly better day on the flat for me, an looking not too bad on NH. Most horses still running in top 5

Yulin Potential on the flat really benefited from a very fast pace. Really loves a strong pace, it's the only reason she wasn't up[loaded last season for the Leger.

Monterey Kool is a huge winner for my stable. He is one of the new horses who represent a handier sitting type since I changed all my trials. I still worry they wont fully stay, but he got home well over a furlong too short.

Ithaca Circle and Devils lake Tantrum at Dubai should tell me whether my new look horses are good enough to challenge for the title this season or not

Thanks to all the Comm guys. Great work as always. Mart, have I put one of your horses up too much from day 1? I'm sure I may have made a mistake one one or two who already had a rating from last season as realised halfway through I had been assuming all were 75 to start with

Another good day for me with a further two wins on the flat. Did rather enjoy watching my girl ‘Generational’ though that’s not a normally run race for her.

NH team had a better return with 3 wins, but in a week where the ground does not favour I am not unduly concerned, good to see Leon has improved. Going to be another interesting season.

If you go into your stable list, there's an edit button on the right hand side of the horses names

Vinny it might have happened again

I just started my career flat game and the itch is coming back and I might need to scratch it again

I've got two weeks before I go away and hopefully I'll get near the magic 20 season mark to see if its even possible to do anything , if u not got the ingredients by that time then u can't make cake. I'll decide before I go away if its worth continuing. :D

Well the first week is in the book and I think I got my horses just about spot on. My 2 milers very average apart from Cuth. Overall my 2m4 horses has improved and my 3 milers will be the best part of my team wherever they end up.

Nice run from my hold up horse Scally in the grade 1, hopefully she'll get some good ground races to run in.

First week down. Went as well as could be expected. Couple of promising runs from some of my team, hopefully can pick up a handicap somewhere.

Just as a side note how did you guys get so good at this game? Is there specific stats I need to look out for or is there a science behind breeding these monsters?

Congrats to all the winners and placers

Starting with the NH, I never expected very much from my NH team, all the horse are from a new save that is only 23 seasons old. I am totally surprised that I had two winners, one was a dead heat.
The rest of the team ran as expected, most finishing near the back of the field. A few horses did show signs that they may be competetive in the handicap races.

Very, very pleased with the start my flat team has made.

Six winners and eight second places.

I mentioned in my stable tours post that I was targetting the Classics and the Dubai races. The Dubai horses were brilliant, four winers, three seconds and a fifth place.
The horses that were uploaded for the Classics were only average at best but very few were running at the type of tracks that suited them. The exceptions were the two horses I uploaded for the St Leger, both came second in their respective races.
The other two winners came from my sprinters, probably the strongest part of my flat team. All my sprinters were sired from horses who had won G1 races in previous league seasons.

Looks like the flat championship is going to be very competetive this season. Before any races were run I thought that Vinny and myself might be the favourites for the title but James Shea and Joshua Sutherland have had very good starts to the season. Well done guys.

Thanks to all those who do the hard work behind the scenes that makes the league possible.

Jim
