no but the point is thunderspark that the major uk meetings have had realistic ground!!!
guineas - good i think
epsom derby and oaks - g/s
glorious goodwood and royal ascot - g/s
all very realistic
this is the highlight of the nhc , and probably the entire league. it should be realistic like the flat ground has been. ive been wanting firm every week on the flat but i know the ground has been realistic.
i think it should be overturned by any majority whatsoever
i think if people are just hitting keep firm and then not stating their reasons it is not really a good way to go about it - even if your reason is similar to thundersparks. his opinion is valid, im glad he didnt just vote firm and not say why!!!!

the cheltenham festival is the highlight of the nh so to get unrealistic ground is very disappointing

Dont think i should vote here as i dont have any runners in the league. If the ground was going to be anywhere near firm they would have watered it severely in real life so firm cant be realistic.
Eventually someone is going to click on that they can make any amount of accounts and vote as much as they want.......any minute now......
I voted no! But i dont think it should be a reroll, it should be changed to gd to firm as that would make it seem like rich was out with a watering can. That way its fair on everyone. Still got that firm in there for trainers who want that and its not extreme for the trainers of soft ground horses. Unfortunate if you have soft ground horses but thats the way it goes, gd to firm is safe, fair and although unlikely, still quite realistic.

i was going to suggest it but Joe got in 1st as per usual...lol
GTF would be the fair result instead of a re-roll
but i guess that is a matter of opinion
it has been firm b4 for Cheltenham
my 5 winners from my best(lost to virus) stable
still have'nt recovered from that stable loss
as the breeding stock was really superb

Interesting why del.?
Most of people's horses will either be good or soft ground horses.
I don't have one which likes Firm ground at all.

If firm was the ground chosen then that's what we should stick with. It's not like we can ring up the cheltenham racecourse and demand they postpone the festival to allow possible rain. I'm not too fussed either way.

Keep it firm, if we start changing the going when some don't like it then we're heading into confrontational ground in the future as people will start asking for changes more often just to suit them, it will eventually lead to conflicts and allegations of favouritism etc, the last thing we need.

My sentiments exactly.
If there are certain ground conditions that are unacceptable for some meetings then the 'weather generator' should be changed to suit.

if the going for the guineas, oaks/derby, royal ascot, goodwood had been heavy or hard then people would of kicked up the leagues biggest ever stink!!!
i cant emphasise enough how much my horses prefer firm ground, however it is not fair on the nhc thats its number one meeting and highlight of the entire season is ruined by the most unrealistic ground.
in response to Pepsiboy, no nothing would be postponed but Simon Claisse would have the ground watered so it was good racing ground. This isnt an opinion , its a fact, hes done it before!!
i think its quite typical that flat trainers say - just leave it , why should it be changed - this is because the flat trainers havnt been faced with any ridiculous ground conditions throughout the meeting. some have been slightly unfortunate yes, like ascot being GS, bt nothing outrageous. firm ground at the festival is nothing short of ridiculous

once again, like with the other issue about game transfer yesterday - if this is going to upset people and make them jack it all in then its just worth continuing on and getting on with it

What's the point in having realism to the league?
Your point is sopt on Ryan, the course would get watered, because it's unsafe for jumpers to run on Firm ground, and most of the trainers in real life would pull there horses out of the races.
That's what am going to have to do, is pull all my horses out. Been playing the game for over 8 months for this week in the league for this to happen. It's a JOKE, Firm ground should not even be an option.
If it stays Firm, does this mean we can enter first time out horses in G1? Makes sense to me.

That's basically what we are deciding, whether the weather generator should be changed. It really has nothing to do with this particular week.
