It looks heavy on chases? Is there enough low grade handicaps?

I cant work out what you mean with the maiden hurdles week1/3 week 2?

It looks heavy on chase's Matt due to the range chase's are run over up 4m 4f plus you have fifteen legs of Paul Moore's series in total there is

162 Hurdle races
181 Chase Races

Week1 has 10 maiden Hurdle Races these are not Novice maiden hurdles
week 2 has 3 Maiden hurdle that are not Novice Maiden Hurdles
week8 and week11 are Maiden H'cap Hurdles and will count towards the low handicap hurdle races these where put in for trainers that might be new to the league and who's horse's are struggling to pick up a race.

to only have 19 chase's more than hurdle races I think is pretty good when there are more extreme distances over fences 1 would count 0-140 down as low handicaps with the maiden handicaps aswell this means you have 23 low grade handicap hurdles.

The only thing that stands out to me is the 0-140 chase's but these can be reduce by either having more 0-160 and more 0-130 or 0-120.

Gray.

How have you added the numbers up? I made it about 200 chases?

Have you got all of these? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Br ... Hunt_races

There's another site I forget which lists all the top handicaps and also handicaps from the smaller tracks.

Re the 140 handicaps. Trainers will have horses rated 110 or less which means they will be out of the handicap for those races. Its so hard to balance it all out and takes a long time as I kept changing and adding what people asked for with the flat one.

Yes there is around 200 Chases must of missed a few but there are 34 3m5f to 4m 4f races which explains why there are a lot more chase's so if you take them out of the numbers its pretty level.

Yeah we need the long distance races, otherwise those horses wont have many runs. Still think we need more hurdle races especially if you take into account the 4yo only races as well.

And is it chronological?

There has to be quite a lot more chasers than hurdle races. So heavy on chasers is fine As the max distance for hurdles is 3m1. As in real life the majority of races needs to be chasers.

There needs to be more maidens after the upload windows

Its a great schedule, no doubt. Im not sure the gap is so wide between chasers and hurdlers in the league but we'll see. Irl most cards are split between chases and hurdle races?

Last season all races where 4+ which is unrealistic I have not adjusted the race age, race age min or race age max Column's yet I been working on renaming certain races and adding races to the schedule the other columns I been working on where Race Type as this column needed doing as some had the wrong code,Race Grade which is colour coded to make easier for people to see different type's of races and of course the min and max rating range for handicaps.

Has soon everyone is happy i will then adjust the race age column's as I think these are urealistic thanks for that page you posted matt about the listed Nh uk races that will make it easier to see the Min race age which is mostly 5+.

You need to be very careful with the ages. It is now quite hard to get horses that dont decline rapidly at 5.

I've asked a few times. Is the schedule chronological?

Sorry Matt yes I have tried to make it as chronological as possible even the irish meeting andAuteuil wetherby is out of place and put into week 2 instead of the lingfield meeting I already explained why that was in earlier posts so I could fit in auteuil in week3.

Are these in?

Devon Marathon from Exeter
Premier Kelso Hurdle
Market Rasen Summer Plate and Hurdle
Scottish Triumph and Scottish County Handicap Hurdle from Muss
Durham National
Lord Mildmay Memorial Handicap Chase
Cork Grand National+other races from Cork festival
National Spirit Hurdle
Sidney Banks Memorial Novice Hurdle
Eider
Perth Gold Cup

Midlands and Summer Grand Natiional

Some races from some of the lesser tracks. Loads more in Ireland as well

Edit have you got rid of all the incorrect races. Races 50 and 58 for eg are not real races?

I don't know what races 50 and 58 are matt but those races will be in week two as I explained the only thing I changed in week 2 was evict Lingfield's meeting and put in wetherby's Charlie hall meeting to make way for Auteuil in week 3 I needed space and chepstows meeting was only two races where Wetherby's was 5 races so it was logical to move wetherby up instead of Chepstow the meeting also I put in some races Ballybrit Novice Chase Galway and race 58 is now a race from Tipperary the Tipperary Hurdle G2 the rest of week two satyed the same as most of the races where maidens you do have Kempton Park and Doncaster from last seasons Schedule so these may be the races you are on about yes they are still in but can easily be removed And put in some other races from that part of the season from minor meetings.

Now to your list Matt these are the Nationals in the schedule

Munster National WK3 Limerick
Southern National WK 4 Fontwell
Scottish Border's National WK 6 Kelso
Welsh Grand National WK 7 Chepstow
West Wales Grand National WK 8 Ffos Las
Kent National WK 9 Fontwell
Midlands Grand National WK 10 Uttoxeter
GRAND NATIONAL WK 11 Aintree
Irish Grand National WK 12 Fairyhouse
Scottish Grand National WK 12 Ayr
Highland National WK 13 Perth
Durham National WK 13 Sedgefield

There is not enough room for every race in the uk Calendar to be put into the Schedule you cant have loads of races in the same week around the same distance so a few on your list are not in like Devon Marathon Kelso's Premier Hurdle and The Eider Chase the Scottish County Hurdle is in but not the Scottish Truimph as Cheltenham already has a Juvenile Hurdle already in that Week.

Cork's National is not in either as there is enough Nationals already in the Schedule without the Paul Moores Qualifier's it would be easier for you to look at my Schedule matt then ask Questions lol I will send it straight to you e-mail or anybody else's who wants to see it it's in Excel 2013 just let me know your E-mail address.

Most of the notable summer meetings Market Rasen's plate Newton Abbot Cartmel are all in week 13 but not the Summer National aswe already have two Nationals plus the two Paul Moores Final in that week already.

Post Re: September NH Schedule Debate
Ah ok I thought you were doing a complete re-write, starting from scratch. Sorry. Last season's schedule was chronologically incorrect, had a lot of made up races, races at the wrong tracks and distance and races which were discontinued years ago.

Did you mean Folkestone for Kent National?

I'm aware you can't have several of the same races in one week. Maybe someone could do the tables for the races to make sure there is a balance.

The Kent national doesn't exist any longer, after the closure of Folkestone.
It was replaced by the Surrey national at Lingfield (3m4) in late February.
Not sure if you want to change this
