Was undecided until late on whether to run October mist and have some pace or just run my 2 best horses. Luckily it paid off. From England originally which is where my love of horse racing stems from. Have spent the last 36 years in Australia though.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Todays racing is exactly why i love this game so much !! First half of the day brilliant and have few complaints all in all as i have the champion hurdler ,what a race to break the maiden tag in to back up Corridor of Powers supreme win .
Following on from that i honestly think both Victory Coup and Superbowl would have won their respective races but for last hurdle mistakes and then the mighty Persian Princess won just as expected off a mark of 125 before the stewards got involved. Morally shes a 7 timer but it is what it is and it just adds layers to a great league . Also the preview show was brilliant and hopefully if you guys have the time they will become a feature again .
Well done everyone that won especially Matt and huge thanks to all that make the league happen

Great Work, Martin, Stu and Paul on the day 1 tips preview and on the comms
2 winners at Cheltenham for me
Great winning The Arkle with Sixth Gear, expected him to go close after how he ran in the Irish Arkle last week
Beach Lady winning in The Coral Cup but only due to Persian Princess DQ, unlucky there, Daniel, but congrats on winning The Supreme and The Champion Hurdle
Congrats, John, on winning the Champion Chase ChatGPT previews in Tom this week were my doing, i had some free time, so I thought I'd upload some previews using ChatGPT, not perfect, but worth a read
On the Flat a shock G2 for me with Stay Happy in the Park Hill Stakes, only entered her because there were 3 runners, never expected a win Congrats to Paul too on winning the St leger and The Doncaster Cup
Congrats everyone else with winners and placers and again thanks everyone running then league

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Unbelievable day for me picking up 2 wins at the Festival, winning the bumper, with a horse that should of gone to the Triumph but the ground was not ideal, but means I am just one race away (Triumph) of winning all three 4yo races, have to say its unlikely as I think its probably one of Daniel's horses they will take it. Winning the Brown Adv with a smart ride coming up that hill with rocket hooves and beating the likes of Morgan, Sutherland & Gerrard to the line, a rarity in anyone’s books. Today other than the Triumph, got a lively one in the St James fox hunter and a couple of low weights in the Martin Pipe, you never know. Flat I picked up a win which was better than yesterday. Well done to all winners including the AI previews on the festival cards (I think Craig is responsible) great little reads.

I know I did crap on a bit... That was my fault, nothing wrong with what you sent. I just never had time to put it together. Never allow yourself to be seconded to the NHS if you want any free time. Still got three more patients today (plus any emergencies) before i can even think about day three comms let alone previews.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
No winners day 2
Best was Juniper, 3rd in Pertemps, and Golden Ace, 3rd in the Mares Novice Hurdle. Disappointed she didn't win, but getting blocked in 1f out didn't help Disappointed most of my hurdlers at Cheltenham, More trialing for next season, and maybe need to upload some real good ground specialists too
Well done all with winners and placers, and Thanks to everyone running the league

Missed not having the preview, it adds a bit more to the festival. Plus the gpt form guide.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Wow....what a week.
Starting on the flat with six winners in total, three of them group winners with Pleasant Chance in the Doncaster Cup, True Colours in the St Leger and Rambling Star in the Prix Du Cadran.
Leaves me with a nice dilemma to have...which two of them do I take to the Melbourne Cup in a couple of weeks?
Now to the NH and at Cheltenham there was an incredible five winners. Another Destiny, Dream Weaver, Orient Moon, Rare Edition and Shape Shifter.
Never a moments doubt with Rare Edition after I talked up her chances in the preview (okay maybe there was a few after she jumped the last so slowly), but she has pace to burn and is more of a 2m2f horse so knew she would fly home.
And what a Gold Cup. A great call from Martin. Think the fast pace suited Shape Shifter, he's more of a 3m4f horse, so he just bided his time and then picked them off one by one and held on in the run in.
Congratulations to Josh for being top trainer, I gave it a good shake but just couldn't quite get there and congratulations to everyone who had winners and place getters in what was a very enjoyable festival. Hope that Aintree is just as good next week.

Apologies for the slightly squiffy final races on the NH, forgot to clear my graphics card issue before running them and had a racekit crash, takes a second or two to resolve live and at the expense of the card. Was rushed this week to run them with not enough time to re-run.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
So decent week for me on both codes. Flat - Only race that mattered for me this week was the Arc, a race I have never won and was delighted to see Heart of Oak at her best once again taking her G1 total to 9 over two seasons, arguably one of the best flat horses to ever grace the league, least in my slightly bias opinion. Sadly shes not quite the same as a 5yo. Title will likely be decided on Breeders Cup week, my last real chance to make up some ground on Vinny. And I concur with Martin's assessment, the league should be more inclusive for big races, the min rating change was put in place as several top trainers had horses blocked or wiped out by lower level trainers horses going backwards in the closing stages of big races, but thats the luck of the draw and its not like we dont already enjoy significant sucess throughout the season. NH - Still love Cheltenham, but I am long enough in the tooth now not to get too excited about my prospects, the horses who I expect to get results, The Pretty Boy, The Wyrm, Vanilla Buttons and The Hoplite all failed and the wins as ever come from horses who have performed less well during the season, The Miss, Cause for Concern, The Racey etc. Consistency is key as it always has been and the NH remains the more approachable of the two codes for trainers to make their mark. Still can't understand why Persian Princess ducked the big one, having already beaten the Golden Miller winner this season. Chuck them in lads, you never know your luck. PS - I expect to see her in the Melling or Aintree Hurdle Still breeding and I hope we do indeed have another season, which should be scheduled before everyone downs tools and the forums go quiet again, but this might very well be my last full on season, hearts not in it anymore, the John Morgan approach might be the way to go from now on. Congrats to all the winners and thanks to those behinds the scenes who make it all happen. Josh

Agree a fantastic horse, although (and I maybe showing some bias here myself) True Colours has to be putting herself into the conversation...6 group wins in her first season (4 G1 & 2 G2) with 3 weeks still to go and there is a good version of her waiting in the wings for next season (which I hope we will have). And if there is a S18 then I hope you don't scale back too much as I want to try and beat the best version of Joshua Sutherland...you are the benchmark...the yardstick...and I still have a long way to go!
